So with very little notice, we discovered a Sci-Fi Con just down the street from me. After getting many many blank looks on Halloween, we just had to go. And the timing was perfect, because the hair dye isn't going to hold out much longer.

Ory-Con was small but a lot of fun. And of course, the best part was that everyone knew who we were and many of them had been to the showing of BR down at Cinema 21. We intended to crash room parties, but the hall was the place to be, and we were plied with free drinks, so why argue?

A few high points; when O.B. ordered his Johnnie Walker neat in his Cibi glass, several people stopped their conversations and said 'he even has the glass!' best thing about a small group? Nobody asked what was in the glass while we strolled the halls.

Of course, there was the group of young punks who called me a skin job, but that was to be expected. And it was even threatening rain, so we could make our entrance with the umbrella.

All in all, it was nice to have a pay-off for the costumes. We should have some pics soon; met many nice folks with digital cameras.

Thanks Mike.
I have to say, the funniest thing about reactions recieved when we went out Halloween Night...
Here's the order of them, "Your kids look good!" "Oh, you guy's look nice!"
"WOW! GREAT UMBRELLA!!!"
The Neon Umbrella completely stole the show... Very Happy

Thanks SKIN JOB!
The sculpt on the faces took about a day...I really had to work fast and dirty to get them done and Megan did the costumes ofcourse.
Make-up Application took most of Saturday.
There were more than 400 people in attendence, you should have seen it when they played "Thriller"!!
Megan and myself recieved a rowsing standing ovation during the costume contest and were crowned King and Queen shortly after...what a HOOT!
By the way, those aren't tomatoes you see in our scepters...theyre little brains! Very Happy

Holy crap, dude! If I had seen you two walking down a dark street (without ever hearing any back-story), I might have shot both of you in the head.

Shocked

Heh, I like to give credit where credit is due. [Good] 'Walking Dead' flicks are the only things in the horror genre, that can still make me squirm.

A funny note...
I put a fozen sponge in each of my pockets...
then shook hands with a lot of people.
Their reactions to getting a cold damp handshake were priceless!

Hey check this:
http://www.portlandtribune.com/features/story.php?story_id=121080141415860000

Megan couldn't resist getting in a bit about her BR Trench!

I think it was the Rum and Cokes that slurred my speach...not the make-up
