I got mine today and it doesn't quite look like the ones pictured. Mostly instead of a continuous glow throughout the center rod, it has the LEDs in the handle and they light up some kind of embedded fiber optic like strings that runs inside the acrylic. It is cool and probably worth the price but not as authentic looking as I was hoping.

Hi Andy,

It looks great in the photo. Is this a photo of yours or is it a promo photo from the company that sold it to you?

here's a bad pic of the tip that shows the "strings" (somewhat) Rolling Eyes .

All In all the quality is good and it is a good interpretation of the BR umbrella. It is also a lot more durable than a florescent tube, and a lot easier to carry without a battery pack wired to it. I think its funtionality is it's main plus and in some ways it looks cooler than the movie version. the price ain't too bad either.

I have considered getting one of these a few times, but honestly, it would probably end up in storage and never see the light of day.

I still think it is very cool and I look forward to seeing the pics you will take of it.

I think it is best used on non-sunny days Wink

I got mine two weeks ago. I was a bit dissapointed too about the fiber optic light thingy. Not exactly bright like the ones pictured. But, it is a neat umbrella for the price.

I agree. been a couple nasty days here and I've taken the old umbershoot out for a stroll. Really looks great at night.
