Sorry if i've posted this in the wrong section, still new to these forums.

I was wondering where the best place to get a BR blaster in the UK is? I've been looking for ever it seems, lol.

Would really appreciate some help.

Thanks all.

I've moved it to the main Props area (not sure if that's right either). Hopefully someone will be able to help you out.

Just a quick FYI, The Pit is for any rants you may have (either in or out of the hobby).

No need to apologize. It's cool. Just want to get you the maximum amount of looks to give you the best chance of getting an answer. Good luck with your search.

Might be an idea to read up on the laws about 'replica imitation firearms' before you buy too - could keep you out of trouble. Smile

Was hoping that there are some makers of blasters in the UK? Or some people that have got certain kits through customs?

Siderio (SidKit) has shipped his all-metal Blaster kit successfully from Italy into other countries by separating the components into separate packages. But I'm not sure whether he has shipped these into the UK since the implementation of the new, stricter laws on "replica imitation firearms."

As a rule, Siderio ships most of the main components of the Blaster loosely assembled, but I'm sure he would ship the kit completely disassembled and split into different boxses at the client's request.

You can find his site here:

How is this one ? Does it look pretty accurate? It's resin with no moving parts (That i'm aware of) I know it's not as nice as those metal blaster everyone has but i'm kinda skint and would love it just for display.

Thoughts?

I would avoid buying that kit for several reasons. 1st off it is recast from a Rick Ross PKD-1 kit, and from what I hear it is pretty poorly cast(uneven seams, bubbles galore). That is probably why all the photos of them seem pretty blurry. If rick were up and well right now I would suggest buying an original from him for a few dollars more. I would also avoid EDC studios and Charles Wallace for the fact that he does not deliver stuff ordered from him.

I am sure you will find what you are looking for if you stick around here and are patient enough. Also check ebay regularly. I have picked up several simple models of the gun for under $50, including one made by Adam Savage over 10 years ago, and generational recast taken from a screen used stunt. Though they are more historically important than impressive because of their size.

Let me know what properties you are looking for and maybe I can lead you in the right direction. Do you want a kit or a built up? Something for display or cos-play? Accurate to the movie or just cool looking?

Cheers for the help Andy. Wont be able to afford anything for a while, just trying to find who makes them at the mo. If i were to get one it'd have to be a kit, strict gun laws in the UK mean it'll be impossible to get anything else so i've heard.

I'd love to have one for display but would be nice to mess around with now and then aswell, lol. As for accuracy, i'd love to get one the more accurate the better.

Cheers again for the help guys.

Any chance of you posting some photos of ^THAT^ one?

I'm curious about what his "vision" of the blaster was, when details about the screen-used hero were non-existent...

From Adam's site www.adamsavage.com ...

I have taken some pics of my kit, but don't have time to post them now. Supposedly he only made about 10 of them. it looks like he used one of the multigenerational recasts off of the stunt for reference because it has some of the same detail, and also some of the same malformation. Not to mention it being undersized to about the same degree as my Stunt recast.

A link to all the different models I could find so far...

Hi Gaff,

I'm actually getting ready to sell my old Richard Coyle blaster if you are interested (as I have a modded OffWorld) - it's actually a version which came out before the World Con was discovered so obviously has a few details which aren't perfect - but it would be great for a modding project if it really needs to look like a WorldCon). I need to replace the green LED which mysteriously disappeared - but I just bought a replacement and am gonna do it this weekend.

I was planning on posting it on here first and then having a stab at EBay (if I get my phrasing right and get away with it - "It's not a replica gun cos there is no real equivalent" or something like that!!!)

Anyway, I can post some images on here later (or PM you) if you are interested. As a UK man myself, I know how difficult it is to get hold of them - shame cos I would love a SidKit but have been told officially by customs that they cannot be imported (although some people have supposedly managed it)!!!

Thanks,

Chris

Here is a pic of My Adam Savage kit...

You can barely make out his signature in the grip. It may have been a discard, but I got it cheap and got to talk to Adam personally about it.
