Are the COORS cans you ordered from the 1970s? Do we know whether COORS produced those push-top cans?
I know it's a long-shot because of unavailability, and you've already stated that you'll be using pull-top cans, but it would be sooooo cool to reproduce these ASPEN beers using the correct push-top cans...
Just wishful thinking! |
This is quoted directly from the "Coors Brewing Company" Wikipedia page:
According to the Coors website, in 1959, Coors became the first American brewer to come in an all-aluminum two-piece beverage can. In the early 1970s, Coors replaced the common "pull tab" opener on its aluminum cans with a new two-hole top, one large hole for drinking and one small hole for venting. All one had to do was simply push down on the perforated "lids" to open them. Also, Coors had a "wide-mouth" quart bottle with the opening approximately three times the width of a conventional quart bottle.
So I guess they did produce those odd cans at about the right time. _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing. . . |

They don't look screen-accurate at all but I just hope you'll make a limited run of these... I'd be in for the one on the left, depending on price !

A short update to tell that the cans arrived today !
I had ordered a few COORS, just hoping that the tabs would be more accurate... the seller didn't answered clearly to that point, now I understand why : the opening device is quite the same as on the other cans !
I'll begin to erase the brands on the cans next week...Oh yes, a last thing : The labels should be printed next week, too !!!
STAY TUNED ! _________________ THE FUTURE IS A THING OF THE PAST

Superb Fred, for me, the can will sit next to the Whiskey bottle and the mug next to the Cibi glass. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

Got the cans on today! Nothing to complain, these are sweet collectibles. Came very well packed, so no squashed cans and no tears to cry.
As for additional bonus. May I said it's very handy in future. For the diner table. |
