Hi, I just joined this forum and to be honest I´m going crazy trying to get hold of a good Blaster replica, especially since seeing the original prop. It´s so darn hard to find them. I´ve seen the resin ones, the Hartford, the Coyle and so far this one has really caught my eye. If I knew how to purchase one I´d buy it right now.

Do you have a valid link to Tomenosuke´s english online ordering??

Thnx.

Here you go!

Tomenosuke Blaster Kit Ordering Page
http://www.tomenosuke.com/plugins/form/?id=7

If you use this page to place your order, you'll come to a line that reads "LARGE CALIBER BARREL JACKET" about two-thirds of the way down the form. Tomenosuke Shoten made a few slightly oversized barrel jackets (they're a little longer than the barrel jacket that comes standard with the kit). If you'd like one of these in addition to the standard one, you should tick the appropriate box on the form. The additional charge will be JPY 2,100, including tax.

Thanks! Do you know if the assembly instructions will also be in English? I´ve never built anything like this...!

Oh, are the Sidkits still available? It seems the website is down...

You're welcome!

While you were posting, I was adding a note to my post above about the large caliber barrel jacket that is available. I hope the note will help to explain this optional extra part that appears on the ordering page.

As for the instructions: the hard-copy included with the kit is written in Japanese only. I'm not sure whether Tomenosuke Shoten has plans to post the build instructions online (in which case you could run them through an online translation program, although the output from such programs tends to be spotty) or to provide English-language build support to modelers outside of Japan.

I can tell you that this looks to be a pretty difficult build; in fact, Tomenosuke Shoten says as much. If you do secure a model, you might consider saving it for later and developing your skills on other (less expensive) kits, or commissioning someone to do the build for you.

SidKit has been down for a while, but it may be because Siderio is busy with family business; in other words, the site may reopen and his all-metal kit become available again. There are also members of propsummit and the RPF who own kits and might be willing to sell them. I've seen one of Siderio's kits and a couple of Richard Coyle's finished models sell in the past several days.

To be absolutely honest, I´m a disaster at building things. Post traumatic airplane building syndrome when I was a kid! Very Happy

If he says it´s a tough build, that makes me quite hesitant, especially considering the price. I´d of liked to buy an assembled piece but that´s not going to happen.

I´d be willing to buy an assembled WC Sidkit if anyone is willing to part with it....

How can I send PM`s here..?

If you haven't already, you might try looking in The Prop Shop area of the forum. This is where members buy, sell, and trade. All transactions are at the user's discretion.

Here's a link:

propsummit: The Prop Shop
http://propsummit.com/viewforum.php?f=14

You might like to post a new thread there to advertise your interest in a Blaster. You could title your thread something along the lines of "WTB Finished SidKit WorldCon" (WTB = Want To Buy).

The quickest way to send a PM is to find the PM box at the bottom left corner of any post by the person you want to PM. Click on that box and the PM window should open.

I sent yesterday my completed order form but I still have no answer/notice from them. I guess they maybe floored with requests.

I'll let you know how everything goes. Oh my, what a Chistmas present I'll be giving to myself!

I ordered right around fifteen minutes after the blasters went on sale, and got an email this morning saying my order was processed, but my kit wouldn't be available until February, and they'd be contacting me then to fulfill the order.

I sent in my request today. If I get a reply Ill post here as well. I think chances of me getting one are slim to none though. Just a feeling I have.

does anybody know how finished the kit is? By which i mean- are the parts painted and or anodized? or is it all white metal and unpainted plastic?

Metal parts are unpainted, unpolished, cast white metal (with the exception of the jeweler's screwdriver, which appears to be machined aluminum).

Plastic parts are made of black plastic.

As far as I can tell from a cursory inspection, no parts have been painted, polished, or anodized. I hope to find time in the next few days to make a more careful inspection and report.

I'm kind of thinking...the email said they were sold out, but more would be available in February and my name was on the list. It may be badly formed English, but I'm curious if they've had such great results that they're going to make more batches going forward (beyond the 750).

Thank you very much for all the info Temponaut. I would not have been able to deduce all that from the google translations. Great work.
