I must say i am very impressed with how you have the image of Deckard and the blaster displayed with the copy of the WC description paper. VERY NICE!

Where did you find that nice image of Deckard? How clear is it? Is it on photo paper?

Thanks!

The picture I bought at www.scifiworld.se and it is high definition and photo paper. /R

Hello and thanks for the link. I did not see one there for sale, OR was the one you bought the only one? I was under the impression it was something they produced in some sort of quantity?

Please advise!
Thanks!

Sorry it's no sale on the site (it is a convention 3 times each year in sweden with different things for sale there) /R

Gotcha, thanks!

I was able to make some pretty good display photos using google image search set on high resolution images and found stuff that would look fine printed at that size. I know there used to be a place in NYC that would also sell the images made from the promotional slides for about $10 each. Don't know if they still do or not.

Beautiful display, rudolf! Very classy. As others have written, it looks like it could be in a museum, especially with the reproduction of the WorldCon tag. Your inclusion of the five rounds lined up adds a lot to the display, too.

eltee, I can make out one of the support pegs, indicated in the photo below. The head of the peg appears to be spherical. I guess there must be another similar peg under the barrel somewhere, but it's so dark that I can't make it out. I really like the way the dark pegs disappear into the dark background.

superjedi, I love your display, too! Great pairing of the Blaster with the Snub. You mentioned that you think yours isn't as "fancy" as rudolf's. Personally, I think the difference is the color of the field. If you went with a darker shade for the background, I think it would make the display look richer. Just my 2 cents. Both of the displays are lovely!

Well I searched and searched but could not find a shadowbox with opening front door. So I settled for this.

Not as fancy but it will do..

I got the shadowbox from Michaels for $10. Repainted it gloss black (was silver). The support pegs are some old acrylic I had laying around. The Weapons Permit is my own design. Similar to the movie accurate one but with retinal scan picture of the Blade Runner detective and actual picture of the Hartford C&S.

At least now the kids won't be asking to play with the blaster...

Great job, have you thought of sticking some small battery op LEDS on the bottom? the white interior would really stand out.

The way the shadowbox is made (fits like a box within a box). It could be a little difficult to do it and make it look good. Perhaps a false bottom with the electronics and a magnetic switch would work. Something to think about.

I bought two of the boxes so I can play with the other and see if it would work. I have the LEDs and stuff. Just need to get a couple magnetic switches.

Wow! Your exploded view of the frame is almost as cool as the display itself! Shocked
