Hi everybody, I'm new here but I've been sort of following the Blade Runner Blaster development for some time. I eventually bought it a couple of years ago from "toyres" on eBay, just a few weeks before the Worldcon pictures came out (darn luck!). I contacted the guy and he told me he had some conversion kits available, but when I decided to get some he didn't answer the emails anymore.. I have read I am not the only one that is not able to get in touch with him, so let's hope that at some point he will answer! But in the meantime I would like to know if you could please help me answering some questions:
1) does any of you guys have the upsaid "conversion kit" with new grip, LED box and knob, or a spare one that I could buy?
2) I have seen many "customizations" and improvements of the various models, but is there a proper tutorial on what to correct to have a replica as accurate as possible?
3) what do you consider overall the best model of all? I was fascinated by the japanese one, but I don't like the mixed material thing..
This looks like a great community, hope to have fun in here!
Cheers!

Welcome Alex.
There are a bunch (and I mean way too many to link to) of Worldcon conversions on the forum here. Some really good ones go back some years even. If you hadn't also downloaded the worldcon pictures from the top of this section, that would be the first place to start.
Have a good one,
Andy

I take it you've allready bought one of the last Worldcon kits and will sell the 2006 kit?

Yes, I'll get a Worldcon model, but I don't feel like parting with the 2006 model anyways. I can't explain it, I think it's a real piece of art anyways. |

I made the following minor upgrades to my 2006:
Relocated the switch to the side of the mag plate. Painted switch white.
Filled the screw hole in the base of the mag plate and added the missing LED (mag plate now attaches with magnets).
Drilled out side knob and replaced it with real Weaver 29s knob.
(I will be replacing the other knob with a vintage biding post as soon as it arrives)
Added non functioning green LEDs to the targeting device.
Added the two tiny screws on the left side.
Replaced the cast metal rounds with real inert rounds.
Still need to replace a few more screws. |

I also just filled in the dimple and serial numbers in the butt plate for the sake of accuracy. And I managed to create the hanging wires by glueing four separate wires together. |
