JT,
Yes, I truly think those were used as basis for the Nostromo emergency helmets, so go ahead and order yours ! (interested in getting a link to the seller, indeed !)
I think I'll be able to post something about the source material for the shield and orange plug soon, looks like one of my friends has identified the original helmets those were taken from (or at least that's what he told me !)
Stay tuned !

There's usually a few on Ebay. I think there are some on at the moment.
I really wanna know what the red plug on the front is.
I feel like i've seen it somewhere but can't place where. |

Here is the helmet they used the visors from. Also used the red feed port.

No problem.
Did anyone notice that the helmet from the screen capture is different then the one sold at PSOL? The lower visor is different. one has rivets the other does not around the outer part of the visor. Additionally.
The visor on the Screen cap. is has the two prog attachement the other only has one. Just interesting.

Hey Steve, thanks a lot for those beautiful pics !!!
Yep, noticed the differences between the 2 helmets... but one thing is certain, all the emergency helmets were made using 2 of those "Taylor" helmet shields... Gosh, looks like it's going to be hard to recreate a screen-accurate version from original parts !

I'm not sure it does use 2 of the face shields.
Look at the bottom right helmet in this picture...
Looks to have both on that 1 helmet. |

Great photos, guys.
Those helmets look great, I'd feel sad having to take one to bits myself. |

I totaly agree Graham, that's why I'd look for spare parts instead...
... or maybe someone could cast the orange plug and the visors and make them available for those who'd want to recreate this helmet ?

Cheers Fred
It would be a shame to take one of these apart, that's if there are any to be found at all.
Would be cool if someone made a replica of this helmet though. |

Man, even more great pics! I'd really love a replica of this helmet.
If someone has a line on one of the base helmets, add me to the interested list! _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing. . . |

Okay. Richie got a ton of pictures of the helmet. They used the inner parts of the high altitude helmet too. The rubber face seal. This helmet is in a bit of disstress. The visor was in the wrong location and broken at the side. We offered to restore it for Bob. We will see what comes of that. Also. The color is OD green with a lot of silver and black over spray for weathering. You can tell it was doe with jusht rattle cans. Funny how lighting makes it look more yellowish. The pictures Richie too make it look yellowish too. Weird.
Picks to come

A friend of mine (a real aviation buff) told me that the orange front "plug" was used to drink and... vomit ! (if needed, of course !)
