|
|
Hello Everyone,
I finally finished the resin kit I got from Ebay last year. Thanks to Karl, for the fantastic Worldcon pics, and everyone else here for sharing their great work.
I replaced all the cast screws with real ones and added the extra LEDs. I couldn't find any green LEDs at any of my local stores and was too impatient to wait to order them, so I threw red ones in for now. Both trigers move too. It’s not 100% accurate but has the asthetic qualities I was looking for.
Just click on the pics for biger resolution files, thanks for looking.
Cheers,
Neil. |

It isn't the original PKD, but the PKD-2. It is kind of the long lost brother of the PKD, because Rick sold his molds and masters of them around 2002.
After a fire in the shop where he was working from destroyed the masters and molds for the PKD-1, he started over making a PKD that was more accurate in size and appearance to the movie. It was the PKD-2 and it is like the child he gave up for adoption that was adopted by an irresponsible parent(Charles Wallace).

I really like Rick's PKD's, the variations he came up with look spot on to the BR universe.
Shame they're not availible in the UK, apart from a certain place that has recast them |

Cheers Andy - your knowledge re this subject is simply top drawer!
Actually, the 'PKD' I was referring to was regarding the term PKD as being originally Rick's name for the weapon - not as the generic name for all existing BR blasters it seems to have become.
I had forgotten about his fire though, thanks for the reminder!! |

Got ya. "PKD" is a special name that only Rick's kits should have.
