Das Boot is another favourite of mine so i looked up the "Trivia" section on IMDB and came across something.
"Rutger Hauer was offered to play Der Alte/Capt.-Lt. Henrich Lehmann-Willenbrock, but turned it down to do Blade Runner"
Pretty interesting.
I think he made the right choice though. |

I think Russel would've done it better than Nick Nolte who was also up for the part of Solo.

Here's a little thought: it's seems the trend now to re-make famous movies (Footloose is casting as we speak).
If (and that's a BIG IF) they would to re-make BR, which actors would you like to see reprising the different characters of the original? |
