Thanks guy's! Couldn't have done it without you!!
That is truly a great looking cap.
Did you have to mod it at all? Does it provide a liquid tight seal?

No mods and yes, liquid tight seal Smile...by the way, Prescriptives is a U.S. brand (N.Y. based) and is also available in Canada and the U.K. (see: I did my homework ).

Awesome find - thanks, Joberg!

I just got myself one - hope it's the right model... Apparently there are two bottle styles - I'm pretty sure I got the older version, but can't tell if there's a star on top. The new version on Prescriptives' website is narrower:

http://www.prescriptives.com/templates/products/multiproduct.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY14700

Here's a helpful comparison:

Will provide an update once I receive it and try to fit it to my Once-Bitten bottle...

Good find Aku-Aku. The bottle I have is the one on the left ("magic by Prescriptives: Illuminating Potion - Foundation Primer) a little more than 3 1/4 in heights including cap; retail in Canada: $50. I believe that the cap is always the same on the majority of their products.

EPIC FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(unless I plan on sculpting a 1/4 scale Whiskey Bottle!)

I'm still laughing my ass off at my impulsiveness and stupidity - I was so eager to save money ($7 vs. $21) that I failed to read the auction description, which stated "trial size" and "0.25 oz."

The bottle on the right in my earlier comparison photo is 1 oz - which is NOT that much more, and hardly seems enough to justify a Once-Bitten bottle sized cap!

So before I blow another wad on one of these, and despite Joberg's confirmation that the look and/or shape of the bottle I won is the correct one (just scaled up), I have the following request:

Joberg - could you please take a photo of the entire bottle belonging to your cap with the measuring tape or a ruler standing vertically at its side, and also state or display the bottle's content volume?

Thanks! Smile

Hey... where'd you get the giant penny?

But seriously, AKU-AKU, I've done something very similar before in a fit of impulsive excitement at seeing an item I thought I had been seeking at a really good price. Embarassed

Thanks for the cautionary tale, and best of luck in the quest for the right cap!

I believe that can be arranged.

I'm in the midst of preparing for a business trip out of town. I'm leaving tomorrow morning, but will be back on Sunday. On that day, I'll dig up the object of my humiliation, take a photo, and post it here for your pleasure.

Please stand by. Wink

Thanks, Joberg!

Based on that photo and the tall & narrow current commercially available bottle, our only hope is to score a vintage 1 oz bottle...

MOVE OVER, GRAFLEX!

No need to go vintage Aku-Aku, you can buy them anytime you want in any good store with a good make-up counter

Well I just spent about an hour combing make-up websites and that bottle is no where to be found. Looks like they redesigned the bottle to be a taller thinner version.

O.k. guys; bad news all around Crying or Very sad Not only they re-designed their line of bottles, but I just learned for A1 sources that the company will close at the end of october Shocked !!!!!!!!!! So we'll have to find another container/cap for the bottle: the saga continues.

Joberg, can your A1 source perhaps find out where the older version of the bottle was manufactured? Ask to speak to someone in their sourcing or supply chain management department. Who knows - the vendor may have some left over that they might want to get rid of, especially given the news of the closing of Prescriptives. Or they might be willing to do a short run of caps for us, say 250 or so? I'm sure Once-Bitten might be interested in following up your leads since he's gained valuable experience in dealing with Asian vendors...

Also, can you please post a frontal view of the bottle (with measuring tape) so the name of the product can be seen? I plan on posting WTB ads on Craig's List and eBay... You may mock me now, but wait until I post a photo of 5 of these puppies in a row, lol!
