Looks like I only have a handful of the A+ graded posts. What I am thinking is to ask top dollar for those (around $40), but then have price ranges all the way down to $5 (shipped) for the rest of them. That way everybody can afford one. I am also looking into cleaning up a few of the other ones, but having a "Natural Patina" could be a plus. I will try and photograph or scan them as soon as I get them all graded out.

Mail Call suprises

I'm hoping the small one will suit the Offworld, I will post comparison pictures as soon as I can for the offworlders amonst us.

I will see how many of the small I can get or how much stock the dude has, if people are interested. The guys prices are very reasonable.

Embarassed Andy, I don't want to step on your toes here.

No problems, If you can get them for cheap go ahead. I have had very little luck finding good sources for these, for any more than one or two. At least until this last deal.

Sorry about the quality of the pic. The small post on the EE8 is just the right size for the wonky Offworld. Maybe only mine is wonky Razz The Post is pretty light and should be easy to attach. It will look alot better than a case plastic knob.

Many of the ones I got from the EE8's had a more significant bevel to the flat top edge of the knob part of the post. Others also had more pronounced ridges. It seems like there is a lot of variation on these parts like many other things from that time period. Even the less accurate ones are much better than the plastic ones on the Offworld. Also much better than the ones on the sidkit as well.

By the way Photech, the larger knobs on the EE8 are perfect in scale for the Rick Ross PKD-1 and Magnum. I can't wait to see some people use these.

The Rick Ross PKD-1 and Magnums must be big suckers. They would look a beast to wield. The offworld must be significantly smaller then. Hoping to find some time to to finish my offworld just can't seem to find any latley Crying or Very sad

The funny thing is that the PKD-1 is what the gun looks like in our mind. It is huge in comparison, but guns that are in essence the same size as the real gun aren't much bigger than the offworld. The PKD-1 is impressive but still smaller than OZ Shop, the Marco and the Adven gun. Actually quite a few of the Japanese early guns are absolutely HUUGE (thank you Fuccillo Hyundai, many years before Paris Hilton co-opted it Razz). The PKD-1 may still be my favorite version of the gun of all time. It is an artistically idealized version of the gun, that I think is in many ways a more aesthetically satisfying version of the gun.

Here are some of the posts I picked up to show some of the differences.

You can see that the ribbing is slightly more pronounced on some of them. I have you to count them to see if they have more or less than the hero gun. The end on some of them is slightly to severely beveled. The hero version had almost no bevel on the end like the ones in the first pic which I believe is the accurate style.

Yes, I would've gone with the first left ones for the look...it seems that even a slight beveled look is too much. Thanks for sharing Andy.

In the second picture on top you can see two more degrees of bevel, both less than the first picture. Honestly the scanner magnifies the effect, and the medium bevel is hard to tell without looking at it with a magnifier. My eyes are actually pretty blurry looking these over and trying to separate them, and that is with a magnifying lamp. But like I said. I want every body to be able to get one at every price point, so I had to break them down. I am going to do another pass at them too and see if I can separate them even more.

Hey Andy are you still selling these? I need one for the old Shawn Morgan Blaster I am restoring. I would totally be happy with a crappy one.

Also I might be interested in one of those larger ones that you said might work with a magnum!

Let me know.

Sure, I have a bunch of them, and would be willing to give you a good deal on a set of both.

I'm jumping in here with a big Thank You and thumbs up to Andy for tracking the posts down and sharing them with the rest of us nuts!

These are the parts I've collected for my PKD so far (note Michael's outstanding machined sight rod as well). Still have a way to go...

Wow, where can I get one of those sight rods?
I hope I'm not too late.

It's never too late for those rods; I believe Don is still making them on demand.

Great info Andy. Thanks! I was just able to find a TG-5-B Telegraph set with 3 correctly sized posts for $25 plus shipping.

I saw that one...very surprised it went for so low a price. usually the shipping is a bear on them too. I picked one up for about that price too. They were going for a lot more for a long time. Even at gun shows and at militaria shows they were going for well over $100. Basically you got pretty lucky.

Congratulations,
Andy

Yeah. It was a non-working model. A working one just went for over $100.

I have a saved search for them, and they have been showing up a bit more recently. Could be the fact that they have been going for more money that others are more willing to put them online.
