Wow. That sucker sure has come a LONG way.

I found that getting the gunk out of the seams I had to use a very small, thin, flathead jewelers screwdriver. I also used a flat exacto blade.

Worked pretty well.

Thanks Noland! Yeah thats exactly what I've been using. I was a Jewelry major back in college and I dug out all my dental tools and my favorite sharpened flathead! Only problem is that the resin is so old and brittle that a lot of it is crumbling at the seams. I've dug out as much paint as I could. I think all I can do now is patch what I can and give it a good coat of primer.

My next step is to gather all the screws and hardware I need, and then drill out the proper holes. Andy is hooking me up with the missing binding post, and I'm getting an old Weaver scope off of ebay for the knob. The only thing I havent gotten a hold of is a sight rod. Hopefully mspaw will have one for me when he's completed his machined ones.

"Easy", if this were a solid piece of wax that I can sculpt and cast into silver, then yes it would be easy!
....MMMmmmmm....silver blaster......

This is the first time Ive attempted to work on a kit since I was in college. I gave up on model making when I couldn't get an internship at ILM. (another reason I became a jewelry major) Those SOBs stole my childhood! Wink

I've already had an IQ test this year, I don't think I've ever had one of these...
