I am thinking of doing a Set of Patches. Is there any interest in these?

The first three are from the BR cop uniforms, the last is just one I made up for fun.

PM or post here if interested in a set, if enough interest then I will do a run of them.

thomas;)

Hi, thomas.

As you've been away for a while, you may not have seen this thread:

http://propsummit.com/viewtopic.php?t=1203

Just want to draw your attention to offworld66's project, in case you were unaware of it...

No, I did not see that thread, thanks for the update. I will just do some patches for me then.

Thomas, i only started the thread to get as cheap a set of patches for myself as possible, the fact that other people want them too is a bonus in terms of shareing and knocking down the initial set up price but if you are able to have embroided cloth patches made at a cheaper price, then that is the way we should all go.
Im doing this for zero profit so your not burning me at all.
It wouldnt be fair to the first group of people who are helping to absorb
the initial set up cost to discover later that there could have been
a cheaper alternative...
Please keep us informed Very Happy
Tim.

I agree, hopefully we can all work together to get these made. The more of us the better the price in the end. No need to delete the thread.

I just don't want to step on anyone's toes. When I saw the other thread I dropped my project, but it appears that you guys want it to go forward.

I dropped off the art work at the patch maker and I am awaiting a quote. She also does tshirt silk screening, so if we want to make some custom shirts we can get them cheap. She can do up to four color silk screening.

I will keep you all posted.

thomas;)

PS Offworld has asked me to include the small triangle patch. I will work on it too.

Thomas, i would really appreciate it if you could include these two patches in your submission.

Im a stickler for detail and wouldnt feel comfortable without having the complete set of identified cop patches. It seems the browncoats have a slightly different patch layout than the stormtroopers, with these two patches being the difference.

The patch on the left does not appear to be a embroidered patch. It looks more like a sew item with a lot of piping and a button. I can have my wife look at it and try to make up something. The other is not a problem.

Yes, the one on the left doesn't look to me like an embroidered patch either, but rather a sewn item. It's hard to tell whether it's piping or braid; in some areas it looks like piping, but in others there appears to be a texture or ribbing that suggests braid. It may simply be an effect of the photograph, though.

Glad to see this project going forward in such a spirit of cooperation.

The patch is made from some sort of braiding but i think that if it was made like a standard patch, same as the others(2D) that it would still capture the essence of the original.
People could add braiding on top of the stitching later if they wanted to.

I think this is the right measurements for each patch... Please follow this link for more info on how I determined them :

http://www.propsummit.com/viewtopic.php?t=1203&start=40

ROUND "AIC" PATCH : 67mm in diameter

"PK1" PATCH : 86 X 64mm

"8479310" PATCH : 96 X 30mm

"172086F" PATCH : 96 X 30mm

"6DB" PATCH : 116mm X 95 mm X 65mm

Hope it'll help !

Fred

PS : Of course, I'd be interested in 1 or 3 of these sets, depending on price...

It is from the ID cards, and would be our own fantasy patch.
