Although ive known about the beam that comes from Leons gun since i first read future Noir , what ten years ago, I had never actually seen it before i was playing around with my capture set up today.
Its actually pretty cool and has remained unchanged through each cut, had to check.
Here are some frame by frames for anyone else seeing it for the first time
The "fire" frame is interesting as it looks like they used powder as the light scource, wouldnt happen today.

AAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Now all I see is spots!!!!! LOL! That is weird. But a great look at the tube on top of the phone!

Red light on the phone and the greeblies on top are still a mystery...unless somebody knows the name of the guy who actually built it for the movie, it will stay a mystery Crying or Very sad

In a word, Yes. I think he definitely enjoyed outsmarting Holden and then blasting him. Same thing when he gets a hold of Deckard, he's having a merry old time right up until Rachel takes a little off the top.
