The details on the glossy parts are horrifically bad. It almost looks powder coated.

I'm just not a fan of the offworld grip angle, grips in general, and the trigger guard needs to be changed, made rounder and smaller.

I'd second that as well on the one I bought. Sort of reminded me of the paint job on a newer Hot Wheels car.

Got this in yesterday, shipping was very fast. I open the box, pull out the blaster and wow! The quality is much better than the old version. The paint job is better, none of the fliky paint job any more.

There are a few noticeable difference compared to the old version. Don't have to time to go into detail but took some pictures for you guys to see.

1st#, box art/color is now black.

2nd#, (Rgiht) New blaster, (left) old blaster

3rd#, Right side cover cut out, knob, 5th LED and switch.

4th#, LED Box

5th#,

6th#, Barrel is 5-7mm longer compare to the old version.
http://propsummit.com/upload/587/06.jpg

7th#, The bolt cut out is more square compare to the old.
http://propsummit.com/upload/587/07.jpg

8th#, The old grips has those ugly dip that was poorly made. I'm glad they corrected that on this new version.

All and All, I am happy with the purchase. The difference is not much but closer to the world con version. The paint quality is better. The only thing I wish is that they make more metal parts for this. The weight is very light compare to the sidkit. I've email OW if they are going to have any metal parts upgrade later. Post it up when I get the answer.

I wonder if they would sell just the ammo clip/LED box? I suspect that you could easily replace the old one with the new version.

The work done to the ammo clip would be easty to do.
They have used the same model clip and just added the 5th led, this puts the front 2 leds further back into there holes.

And soldered extension wires from the pcb to the switch.

I have asked about replacement parts already and was told,

"Dear Sir,

We currently dont have any RMA parts but maybe in a few months are so. Check back with us later for parts.

Thank You

Off World Staff"

So I'm sure you will be able to.

The grips also look darker but this might be a lighting effect due to the black grip handle.

I bought two of the 'new' upper recievers , to effectivly 'repair' two old M2019' client's blasters, they still had the old spelling'error' to and I quote their response " to avoid copyright issues !" they left the spelling untouched !!??? , whilst the reciever itself is fairly well produced in diecast zinc alloy -powder coated black . Now if only someone would produce a decent upper reciever???

Offworld have stated that the upper reciever is the only spare part available currently and when that's all sold, they might look at another.

Thank you Surefire88 for that complete report (very professional and thorough...that's how we like it at Propsummit . Cool blaster without a doubt; I just wish that the angles of the Steyr were sharper, but all in all a good buy and a cool piece to collect.

Thank you joberg, hope the review help. I did not spend a lot of time on the details. There are a few more changes they have made but i just notice it last night.

I wanted to pick up the Tomo version of the BR blaster but the price ($1400) is way over my budget! This is the only one out there beside the resin kit.

Does any one have a picture of the resin built? How long did it take to build it?

I think it certainly looks a lot better. I am curious to know how well the cylinder latch and release work this time around? The original spring in the cylinder was too weak and would just flop open at times.

The price seems maybe a little high, but I think I would be in for one.

That's for the entire ammo housing and the bottom mag with the LEDs?

If so I will take two.

Thanks

Steve

I've asked them about that, this is there reply.

Dear Sir,

The sale is for the bottom LEDs plate only. That is for propsummit members. We don't sell these individually due to production cost. If you are a propsummit member. You can start a list or be on a list for the 20 pcs of the LED plate unit.

Thank you for your interest.
