Hi ! I'm Erv' and my background is electronic engineering, I went gradually to props electronics in general after I started building lightsabers in late 2005.
Blade Runner isn't the topic I know best but I like the movie and props very much. One day I might jump in the build of deckart's gun / get funded for a Coyle kit.
A member pointed me there (I knew bladezone but not this place) and searching for "umbrellas" I discovered mine was mentioned.
I yet have to go thru the forums to read about how it works here, what kind of runs you do, but as a start:
"HI!"

thanks.
After exchanging with rich coyle a while ago about a future lawgiver run & electronics we talked about his M2019 kit & electronic.
If I acquire such a kit I might develop a specific board that accommodates that piece of art (sound + light).
Blaster Core can do it but the PCB is too large. Still it can be scaled to match the need of a M2019.
I'll see. Budget is tight and still many sabers to complete |

Okay, brand-new poster, here. Long-time BR fan, however...it's been top-five material for me since its original release, throughout its many incarnations, and right up to the grimy, future-shocked modern day.
About a year ago I decided to live out a long-held aspiration and work Rick Deckard- and BR-inspired pieces into my daily wardrobe. Nothing too outlandish, just kinda going for that style. It is nearly 2019, anyway, so I might as well look the part.
I'm kind of new to the hobby, looking for an easy entry point...I've got a Magnoli tie, and the right Adidas. Now what? As a graphic designer I've always been drawn to the signage and paper props of the film. Maybe that? |

Welcome Metrokab.
There are a ton of paper props on this site, but I admit they are all over the place and hard to find at times. There is a thread for paper props but it hasn't been bumped up in a long time. Spend some time exploring and I am sure you will find stuff you didn't know you were looking for.

Thanks, everyone...glad to be here. After doing some reading on the forums I'm noticing a lot of design-related props (ID badges, etc.), which I'll be looking into. Maybe even trying to recreate some of them myself.
Amazing how good the original layouts look, knowing they were produced in the pre-Mac era (just using pens and pencils...no Photoshop or Illustrator).
I guess good design is just good design, regardless of when it was produced. |

Hello.
This is more like a welcome home to me.
Unbelievable.
I saw Star Wars opening weekend at the ripe age of 7. It ruled my world. Right up to the point I was sitting in the theater watching Blade Runner. Lets say the axis had shifted.
I have been lurking for a while on another prop forum and found propsummit.
It's like a drug here.
I have a very overwhelming amount to take in. Lots of reading.
Thanks!
Brad |
