Well guys, that about wraps it up for the bottom. I still have very minor details to add, and just a tad around the shuttle garage, but for the most parts, the lower hull is finished. The antennas will be mounted the very last.

I am starting the brass landing gear today, I will keep everyone well posted on how I do this. It will be rather simple..I will just substitute brass for the cast gear struts. Sorry about the shadows in the pictures..It is so bright out that I had trouble even seeing the subject through the camera viewer... But you get the Idea here...

THanks Guys!

I actually did a tiny scratch built Narcissus, and started to trim off the rear it to give it the same proportion sticking out of the shuttle garage as it should look with the cover retracted..however, I realized to make it correct I was not about to cut any more off of it after all that work making a tiny narcissus, so I left it sticking out a slight bit more than it should,..but at least you can see it LOL!!

I am all over these projects like I am balancing spinning plates on a stick and juggling fireballs.

Here is a new hull top.. I am now casting them top and bottom.. here is a fresh one.. today I have done three hulls and many parts.... and More work on the Nostromo while I wait for resin to cure.... I need 4 hands I guess...

This weekend I have been going full steam ahead on this Nostromo..It is progressing better than I thought. I have also molded the shuttle in the garage, and a new accurate engine insert that the builder glues into the engines. I could not think for the life of me how I was going to reproduce this, but driving to the hardware store I had a brainstorm and bought a box of nails for a power-nailer. The little rubber things under the heads of these nails are damn close, so I fitted and made the insert for the engine, then glued on the little nozzles in the correct pattern and molded it.. I must say I'm damn happy LOL!!!

Here is the Nostromo with the engine mod ready for the flaps to be put back on:

Also, Today I finished the front Landing strut. It is made of 3/16 brass rod, the resin parts that come with the kit..and 1/32 brass tubing. It is very strong. I sat the Nostromo on it to see how it looks... I will shorten the gear just a bit.. But This will be removable gear, the gear doors will be attached to the removable strut, and another panel will pop in the bottom for it being displayed flying...

Hello again gang,

JT: if you can get this thing as accurate as possible (to match or surpass the Halcyon kit), I would like to purchase one to use for my ALIEN: REVISITED edit. I am currently searching for one of the Halcyon kits, but being that it is 12 to 14 inches and this is much bigger, this could be better for what I plan on doing.

HI Monroeville where have you been??!

this particular one is going to a museum in Canada, I am going mostly off of every scrap of material I can get and the work we have all done here with every contributing member (yourself included) and Space Jockeys' excellent work on the blueprints..(which are also going to Canada) I have finished the all brass antennas and probes, all of the rear hydraulics, and some panels that fit over most of the rear reactor piping, as well as the engine bell hydraulics tonight. Tomorrow I hope to have the port landing strut done, and a few other things.

I would love to make you a Nostromo for your movie, sounds just awesome, and it is great there a people like you that really think out a great project like you are taking one. This model is about maybe close to twice the size of the halcyon model, and much heavier ~!

the thing I like about it is it is solid resin and I can do a lot of drilling, sanding and attaching a ton of metal parts to it

I actually have 2 of the Halcyon kits, both incomplete. This is certainly better than what I have.

Thank you very much Andy!

and tonight using Space Jockeys INCREDIBLE blueprints, I redid and accurized the conduits on the top of the Nacelles....MUCH BETTER... Since I am progressing on this faster than I thought... I am touching up a few things... Thanks Graham!

And here is the new accurized engine insert in a completed engine.

The Kit will come with this modification, I have been mailing these out to people to get feedback. The kit also comes with 2 shuttle garages, and one shuttle per the blueprints.

I have also done away with the resin landing struts...they sucked. All kits come with pre-cut pre-finished landing strut aluminum tubes, and brass outriggers,, they go together the same way and look nice.
