I came across this place last year and had forgotten it in my bookmarks. It would be perfect for a Blade Runner location. Cue the smoke machine!

Be sure to click on the Virtual Tour and look at all the rooms in the place. There is also a link for full screen 360s. Incredible.

I would so like to get out there to see it in person. Maybe a Propsummit get together?

Cool! Kind of steam punk industrial. I love it.

I could definitely get down with tossing back a few JWBs there.

Pretty sure that would be my favorite bar on Earth if I lived anywhere close to L.A.

Andy, I thought Steampunk as soon as I saw that first picture!
What great decor. Looks like the kind of place Captain Nemo would hang out after a hard day of sinking ships.

Maybe a Propsummit get together?

====

Greetings ~

I'm curious... has that idea been mentioned/suggested before? ~ and has it been done before?

Since I am (thinking) of returning to my roots, since I was born in Los Angeles, and that this is a plan I am of committing to. ~

Quote:
I like the idea of a ~ Propsummit get-together ~ , maybe in 2019? Nov? (or sooner)..?

Just an idea... since I am leaning in that direction anyway.

Quote:
Reason I suggested 2019...

is that (should) give everyone (some time) to plan, gather, and possibly save for this trip of a lifetime?

I know that for me, this will be my one and only and - (final trip) - back to California and Los Angeles in particular.

Quote:
I know that anything will and can ~ happen between now and then ~ like an earthquake, change in buildings, locations, personal goings ons, life and other possibilities, ~ but (at least) its a plan...

Maybe it can be accomplished sooner? ~ I guess it depends?

But... I DO like the idea..

What does everyone else think?

Respects!

A big meeting is L.A. with members of Propsummit in 2019?
Good idea...as for me, it's going to be difficult to plan that far ahead (I usually slice my time into small increments; say an hour, max ) and so it would be impossible for me to answer right away...but, again, good idea!

Yeah, this place is great. They held last year's Jules Verne awards here and projected a few classic sci fi films on the walls (day the eath stood still and 20,000 leagues) and had some celebs, including some BR actors which I sadly missed. It certainly has a steampunk look as it was indeed the power station for LA before it was flooded years ago. The big generators decorating the place are the real deal, not props! I would attend more often if the drinks weren't so spendy. Taffy Lewis has yet to give me one on the house.

Beautiful in so many aspects... Too bad I live in the midwest.
