All one needs is a "Bag-O-Pizza" to go with the beer! |

Hey...just a thought here...
I put my copy of BladeRunner on english "Subtitles" the other night and noticed that when Deckard bought this booze, it was spelled:
"Tsin-Tao"...
Do you think this was just a typo or could it explain the confusion between it and the beer?(Tsing-Tao) |

More than likely a spelling error or accepted version at the time. Hell in the 80s even any old Japanese character was cool on a t-shirt.
Regarding Tsingtao, at least in name, something close to the liquid found in Deckard's bottle looks similar to the wine that comes from the Tsingtao region of China, seen here: http://qdbeveragesgroup.en.alibaba.com/product/50206094/51137398/Tsingtao_Wines/Tsingtao_Dry_White_Wine/showimg.html
However I'm sure those in the production were thinking about the booze more in terms of being sake or some other harder liquor. |

Hey guys, here is something that may interesting you concerning Tsing-Tao as a strong alcohol ...Also, we now that what Deckard is sipping at in the movie looks like something transparent ...Vodka perhabs ?!

There was a pretty good thread on Blade Zone a while back deciding that it was named after the region (like the wine) and not the beer. Also, That more Distilleries and breweries would also come from that area. I like the idea of it being a vodka as well. |

Some type of Vodka was always my impression as well.
A similar argument , though off topic I know...
I used to go round and round with a friend of mine about the contents of the "Family Label" bottle that Belock pulls from a drawer in "Raiders".
My friend claimed it was a wine, I would alway's point out that it had to be a hard alchohol because nobody does shots of wine.
Years later I was told by a bartender about a French hard Alcohol that's very near to Vodka...don't remember the name now though...something that starts with an "L" I think... |

Check out this thread for more info on them. I may have to update it because I found some matching tumblers as well. |

Sweet price! It looks exactly like the set I have, but I paid quite a bit more. Great catch. _________________ Pete |
