I must post the obligatory perhaps this has already been discussed, but have you noticed all the BR props and references in the new Battlestar. I was catching up on it this week and of course there's the Mother's Defender gun being used, they are drinking out of Cibi glasses, and they call the realistic Cylons "Skinjobs". Somebody over there is a big fan of Blade Runner.

Actually if you look closely, its not a Cibi glass in that one scene. Rather its a knock off. I recognized it immediately as its identical to the knock off I had for years before getting the real deal.

I think I want to ID those "Knock off" glasses, because I want to get a set of them for home.

Its one of the last few in the most current season before the break, I don't recall off the top of my head which episode tho. I think it may have been the one where Lee has a gun on Baltar's lawyer. I could swear they were drinking out of those glasses before Lee draws on him.

I wish I could remember what the brand name was, but they came in a set of 4, and pretty reasonably priced. I think we got them at Target or some place like that, but that was back in '93. I think we bought two sets for something like $30. Never have found them anywhere else since tho.

My recollection is that they used the long-barreled variant on BSG, but that scene did jump out at me. It's hard to miss a pistol with four barrels! Smile

Right, like in the second instalment of the Matrix: the actress Monica Belucci is also brandishing a mother defender.

The "long barrelled" variant is strictly an airsoft invention. COP never made those.

But, I don't remember seeing the long barrelled version on BSG.

The mini series and fire season blasters were mildly influenced by the BR blasters look and feel.

The show has always enjoyed borrowing from the film though.

Perhaps too obvious, but there's also the fact that Gaff is Adama.
Or Adama is Gaff.

A huge part of the Moore BSG is this theme of "what does it mean to be human", which as we know is a huge part of Blade Runner as well.

The humanoid Cylons are pretty much the same as the Replicants of Blade RUnner, but BSG explores the idea more thoroughly.

In addition to the "Mother's Defender" COP pistol, the regular "clamshell" Blasters carried by the Colonials in the first year or so of the series, bear certain similarities to Deckard's gun

Definitely a lot of commonality there.

The "knock-off" glasses are by Luigi Bormioli. The Mozart series. I have them and would like more. If you find them cheaper than here;
