I am glad you guys are getting a laugh out if it... I am looking for some glass or plastic balls to make the strange cables coming out of his neck, I may add that power "needle" in his neck and more weird white "stuff" I do not want to do to much to it..the painting on it is awesome _________________ ______________________________________

I have used the balls from roller on deodorants for modeling before. They are perfectly round with no seam, and semi transparent.

Hey Andy, Do you remember the goofy looking fluorescent beads on wires that bloomed out of the stands in the "heyday"of disco in the late 70's??? You just gave me an idea! Those balls are about the perfects size!!!! I am going to have to see if I can find one of those!!!! _________________ ______________________________________

Are those the same "beads" you can now find in certain "mature" bookstores?

I do not know Probably in "head shops"....this is what they looked like....
They had a base, and out of the bas they had probably 50 or 60 thin wires coming up like a fountain. and on the wires were these flourescent balls or beads, so when you put them under a blacklight the whole thing glowed. I have been trying to find one on google, but I do not remember how they worded them.... _________________ ______________________________________

I thought you might be talking about something like this...
Actually I think I know what you are talking about. They used to make fiber optic floral lamps similar to that, but I don't remember any with the beads on them.

That might work, but unfortunately I do not think one can paint soap, ( assume that is the 70's soap?) but it could be drilled to install the correct wires. I have been looking for the florescent fountains in old 70's nostalgia online catalogies, but no luck. I found some cool glass spheres that look just like the movie, but those I cannot drill.
This is what I have been looking at..but I dont see molded holes

No, definitely not soap. It is a sex toy.
For your large beads you are looking for, check second hand stores in the jewelry section. Many large beaded necklaces with funky looking beads. I still think the balls from the roll on antiperspirants are the closest I have seen to the movie IIRC.

I often buy them much cheaper at the drug store. They even have travel sizes for about a buck a piece with slightly smaller balls in them. I always pop them out after I use them up and have a few lying around here somewhere. The deodorant of course, not the sex toy

HA HA HA!!! I see what that is now....
12 of these for 7 bucks sounds like a pretty good deal dont you think? and I do not have to clean all the deoderant out....maybe I can find caps to use the bottles for paint thinner??
There is a LOVES travel center about 20 minutes from me, I may buy some for the smaller plastic balls.... that is a good idea actually.......... different sizes would be even better.... _________________ ______________________________________

Excellent JTP...by the way, soap can be painted with ease...actually, you can use soap mixed with any acrylic/water-based colours and apply those on any slick surface and bingo: your colour sticks on the surface
I'm also eager to see the final get-up with Ash. |
