|
|
My Mad Max collection is pretty much based around diferent aspects of the cars and ive finally started putting together thr RVS radios used in the MFP cars.
These scratch built units always fascinated me and i think thy pull off the future look while staying in the time.
Heres the progress so far, when the cover box is finished, will set the lights up on a movie correct chase pattern.

Looks killer.

Thanks guys,
Its made of plywood Neil and sprayed with aluminium spray paint then covered with a satin clear coat, glad you like it as well.
J, here is a picture of a professionly made version for the replica car market, it runs about $600US, so far mines cost about $30.
I would like to have a "one piece" cover box as per the pro version, plastic or metal, what would be the process?
I can always box up four bits of ply to do this job but i dont think it would be as clean as the one piece. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

Tim, you can work with High Density Particle Board (great to glue, screw, sand, paint, etc). After the box is made out of that board, I would slap thin plastic sheets on top (with contact cement) and paint it with a nice alu spray-paint (like you did your BR suitcase). |

Very good results here Tim! Love it when somebody tackle the "less known/popular props" in a movie. |

Really love the retro feel , excellent work sir ! You could dump the WAV audio file on a recorder circuit like the one JT did for the Alien Derelict build - I think its a Radio Shack part , but any type of recorder circuit would do . I really do like it - pity I don't have the car to mount it in!! Shame !!! |

Thats pretty much how im going to do it jonny, just trying to find a good, free program that will lift the dialog from the movie, theres a first class editing set up at
work but cant get access to it. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |
