Thanks Andy for fixing the pics (don't know why some uploaded and others not Confused ).
I'm like you JT: I go with the model/prop that is very difficult to do (your Derelict ship for example) or less popular (Med-Tools or landing gear Wink ).
And to close: thanks for the positive feedback guys.

Yes, you're probably right Fred, but I didn't want to go too dard and miss the details (then again, I photographed it this aft. with very bright lights) and compared to the pics, it looks darker in real life... Wink

OK, I get it ! BRAVO again for sharing this awesome project with us !

(BTW, I'd really like to see a pic of your prop room, one of these days !)

There were spaces after the image address and before the [/img] tag at the end. Also you had some random [url] tags in there. those are only if you want to hide a url link inside another word or a picture. If you quote someones post you can see how the codes are laid out before you repost it. It is how I learned to use these tags. I have no real programming experience.

JB, you should take a look at this link :

A shot shows some never before seen details of the underside of the feet !

WOW joberg! This is an incredible project and a great idea! I'm really impressed with your work and detail/paint etc.

Not sure of the scale exactly compared to your piece...

But, I got to thinking that if you wanted to do an LV-426 display with the astronauts next to the gear...the 8" Aoshima Nostromo astronaut figures would probably be just about right.
Just a thought.

Thanks guys...RedYoda, the figures should be 3 inches high only (that's the scale of my landing gear Crying or Very sad )...bigger than that and my GF was about to kill me Shocked

Haha
I thought it was a bigger scale! The landing gear displays great just like it is!

Do you think you might make a planet base for it though?

Too bad Kenner never produced the 3 3/4" astronaut figures....those would have been perfect!

Looks like like the scale of your Rocketeer helmet doesn't match the Nostromo landing gear size...

Fred

PS : Don't want to hijack this thread, but a RPF member is currently offering Rocketeer helmet liners with chin strap... I already ordered one to fill my MIM / ACME helmet... I tell you this just in case you'd need one...

What a great piece, looks incredible on its own and the possibilities
around a diorama are mouth watering. Thanks for shareing J.

That's one of my other project Tim: I'm trying to convince my GF that a diorama with sand, dust and smoke + a good dose of wind and particules of dry potato chips flying around our garden is a good idea .
I'll probably photograph the landing gear, blow it up and make a cut-out of it out of cardboard (background landing gear behind the astronaut, then placing the real one in the foreground).
Got to build a lift some lights and, the other challenge: the astronauts...lot's of work for a pic Laughing
