Ok, I've read all the threads regardin Rachel and Indy Magnoli's blazer. However, I'm just as uncertain as I was when I started. Which one is more accurate, hers or his? My eye tells me Rachel's, but I'd like the general consensus.

Since neither is made out of the original material, it's your personal choice, so either will do, but IMHO Indy's has the edge as it's professionally tailored.

I liked/didn't like Magnoli's jacket; like: well tailored and respecting the overall design; dislike: the colour seems to "orangy" for my taste compared to the film's jacket.

Raechel: I like everything about it: design/details/colour are respected...just my 2 cents (oops, 1 cent after tax )

Yeah, I thought it was a tad too orangy myself. Indy makes good stuff, but the color is just a bit off on this. Thanks.

I bought one of indy's but sent him my own bolt of fabric that I bought that is now out of production. It is most definitely orange but it has the proper herringbone pattern and in low light it looks amazing, main problem with it: its too small. I am a slim guy and usually wear a medium jacket or 39 suit but his jacket fits me too snugly in the upper arm. pm me for photos of it.

I don't think Rachel does answer emails.
IIRC O.B passed on the messages? Could be mistaken.
I think Rachel is also a member here.

Indys is more Dick Tracey than Rick Deckard and i dont think Rachael does this anymore so the best way to get your blazer Wes is to find a second hand herringbone that is either cream or white. All you have to do then is take it to a professional dyer and they can dye it to your prefered shade.
I chose to do two runs which gave a lighter shade, it can be modified in the future if i want. The blazer came from ebay and the total inlcuding the dyeing was
only about $70. theres some pics in my Deckards Costume thread.

I just received my Deckard coat and pants from Magnoli and the quality and screen accuracy are really amazing. I think the talk about being too orange is due to the fabric chosen. Magnoli offers a herringbone tweed in camel, which I got, and it's the correct color -- remember the film is very dark. I've worn the suit at night and it looks great. The swatch number is 2275-e.

I can't speak to Rachel's work as her site is down, though images I saw on her myspace page looked respectable. I'm hoping to see her website up soon.

Also, I've found Deckard like shirts by Bugatchi Uomo. You'll have to hunt around for the Deckard type ones, but the best place is Nordstrom Rack or specialty men's stores. Of course there's internet shopping but you'll need to try at least one shirt on for size since that brand can vary.

wow that's a great shot of the blazer, any more?

here's mine, I dyed the fabric with some brown to take the sharpness out of the color. I should have had magnoli make it an unlined "shacket" to make it fall better. oh well, live and learn.

edit- I just noticed how the little colored ovals on the collar of indy's shirt go the wrong way!

That looks great. The only thing that bothers me about it is that the screen used Lapel looks longer. It looks as though it continues down to the lower button around the height of the pockets, and there is no second button. Your color looks a lot better too. I also like how it seems looser like the screen used now. The fabric is just about perfect too. Just needs to be rubbed up a bit to get the pilling effect. Maybe poke it with some needles to get some pulls of the threads?

If you want the loose style of Deck's jacket, you can always remove the lining...and yes, Andy's right: it's a one button deal on that one, but overall you did a good job and you certainly have the BR look for sure
