Is there a screen cap of the 3rd street tunnel in L.A. scene when Deck is going to his apt...there's a Spinner and a few cop on foot or it's just my imagination; maybe a motorcycle.

In the 3rd street tunnel it's just a standard beat cop stood by his spinner, no bike or biker cop, there is a solitary figure stood against the outside wall to the left, as Deckard approaches the gates, but it dosen't look like a cop just a bum!

they werent spinner helmets at all but Bike Cops.
Is it possible there were specific designs for these and they never made production or wishfull thinking, there are pics somewhere of said machine.
Is anyone aware of any motorcycle designs by Syd Mead?
Another juicy puzzle.

No spinner bike concepts of any kind in my Syd Mead archives (I own the Kronolog & Kronovecta artbooks, those are very complete regarding BR), but I really like the idea...

BTW, I bought a police motorbike kit inspired by BR (for a friend of mine) on eBay 2 years ago... The guy who offered this kit was located In italy (the kit was originaly produced in Japan)

Fred,

Any chance you would be willing to scan any of the rare BR related artwork in those books. I have Oblagon, Sentury, Sentinal 1, Studio Image 2, and the BR sketchbook, as far as Syd Mead books. Not too much BR related stuff in all those books, and no motorcycles from BR either.

Sorry Andy but those books are way too large and heavy for my A4 scanner... and I don't talk about the number of pages devoted to BR... I could take pictures of the most interesting pages and post them here, no prob, but I won't have time to do more, I'm really sorry about that...

Hope you'll understand...

I took the original WW2 M5 and retouched it, adding, the trimmed Bell visor, police badge and white paint finish, and placed it beside the film version. A bit rough and ready as they were done at work on my break. Hope these work okay?

I tried to fix your photos, but I don't think our site will recognize .jpeg format pictures, try changing them to .jpg first.

Added note, I downloaded the images and it turns out they are Tiffs, and huge. Use photoshop or the like to resave them as a .jpg. The size alone might be part of the problem with them, also I don't think the Img tags will work with tiffs here, but I am not %100 sure. I am just guessing.

Thanks for the advice Andy, I'll change them to jpg format, and see if I have any luck? I don't have access to photoshop so will have to try various file extensions and see which works best. The frustrating thing is that it appears hit and miss, some images will pop up, others won't? as I look at the page the pictures are visible below the text? I usually have to check on a PC to see if they have displayed.
Cheers.

Still showing up as Tiffs when I download them. I will see what I can do.

I used Paint to change them to Jpegs. Not sure what you were using but my computer still saw them as Tiffs, even with the jpg file extension.

It might be time for me to split this off into its own topic, we have enough posts now.

Thanks for sorting out those images, they were a real pain!
I used Appleworks 6 by the way, old and simple!

Cheers!

Cheer's Fred, thought it would be interesting to see the original M5 redressed.
I have Andy to thank for sorting out my picture woes!

Trolling the worlds ebays for WW2 items, cant face that again and the shipping down under would be just shocking.
The helmet itself looks perfect for replicating in resin as are the bell visors and its about time we got a accurate version of the helmet and cap badge up and running.
Is it possible for someone to do this with an actual helmet?
A resin version of this helmet makes for some nice possibilities.

Maybe we just need someone to do the ear flaps? the rest of the helmet is similar enough to common helmets out there in ample supply.
