Now you've hit my problem, you can get the right size (static) screen , but to fit a photoframe that runs video you have to use the whole thing , so yes you can extract the screen from the frame, but you have to mount the controls somewhere on the box to operate the frame , I can dump the videos to an SD card , but I can't buy or get built economicallyl a circuit that allows me to control the videos and no frame I can currently buy at 3.5" has an auto start or auto run facility - if anyone knows of one - please send me the details - pretty please !! The larger screen is no problem, as there are many that fit the bill so this is no problem to achieve. |

Maybe someone from the RPF could answer that question? |

This guys seems to have figured it out. Any rate, I've been trying to keep my VK entries to this site only, that is until it's a bit further along. RPF has a lot of talented folks on it for sure. Check out this guy's nerdwerk!

Short of hacking we'll have to come up with a solution |

I agree that someone has done this, it's exactly what we both need to produce a proper working replica . Unfortunately , my electronic skills aren't that good! it's just a touch past mine as I know my limitations !, but essentially we need a photoframe electronics guru who could build/hack photoframes and reproduce an auto run video circuit that takes a 2 meg SD card that runs off 9v - seems simple when you write it down like that - but difficult to actually produce . |

I've got a mate over at Disney who'll start work on it just after Thanksgiving. I doubt any of this will be over his head (I truly am a chickenhead with that end of things). Once he's cracked it, I'll make sure we all have access to the workaround. |
