"Hi"

Occasional, infrequent RPF'er here.

Blade Runner and Alien are 2 of my favourite films, so I already love this forum. As someone slowly working their way up the art department ranks, Ridley's films have been sort of doubly important to me - there's a lot to enjoy, but also a huge amount to learn. I only wish the art department section on Dangerous Days ran for the full three hours Smile Despite being based at Pinewood Studios at the mo, and so being around you-know-what being filmed, I couldn't get in on it, which is a shame, as it would have been a dream to work on what will probably be Scott's last sci-fi.

After doing props for a living - briefly - I fell out of love with the collecting side of it (doing it for a living is kind of a chump's game, I'm finding), so now I'm moving away from that, I'm getting the itch to start a modest BR collection at some point; I figured this forum would be a good place to start. First priority is working out how easy it is to get a decent blaster over here.

Matt

Welcome Clark!

You are sure to find more blade runner props and blasters than you can possibly imagine!

Welcome Clark...to bad you couldn't peak on the Principal Photography of you know what at Pinewood Crying or Very sad (maybe you could disguise yourself as the Tea-Lady and infiltrate the Prod that way )

I have seen the moulds for production out by the plaster shops, though, and have seen through the stage doors once or twice... hardly a full tour but still hugely exciting. I'm really looking forward to it!

I was contacted by John "you know who" to do some one off custom work 6 months ago... you may see it in the film Martino was doing some of the primary sculpting, he is excellent.

How cool, congrats. I tried to catch John walking about or at the bar and just say "hi, I'm studying here, is there any chance of going on the Alien set during downtime as I've always wanted to work on a Scott sci-fi" or something, but could never find the right opportunity, and they've just started striking the sets now. Big regret on my part. Aurthur was around a lot more but didn't want to push my luck with him Smile

Oh well... I'll wait till it comes out but these days no-one does sets like Ridley and his team do sets... would have been astonishing. They've got some huge sets up for the other films there... but it's not a Ridley sci-fi set. Sad

Cool stuff Joseph...eager to see what you've built (one day Wink ).
I guess, some old timers are on the set with Ridley?
