The molds for the last two remaining parts have been made and parts are being cast. The site tube and Weaver knob (thanks to Andy for the loan of an original Weaver knob!).

Here are some black grips poured from the production mold. I found a black resin from Smooth-On (Task 13) that is slightly flexible. The resulting grips have a hard rubber feel to them. Very realistic feeling.

The kit will come with detailed, illustrated, assembly instructions. Here's the cover.

Truly a worthy addition to the Blade Runner world.

Dave, as someone who works professionally in the field of design, I must compliment you on absolutely every aspect of your production. Its not often that each facet of a produced piece is so well conceived, designed, produced and packaged and you are to be commended highly.

Many thanks mate. I for one look forward to acquiring one of these from you.

Highest regards

MARK

Sorry Dave, but I didn't see the cover (pics not showing on my side Crying or Very sad ). I'll agree with Staar and many others here: it's been a pleasure to see that particular prop come alive into your expert hands.
From beginning to end it's a true piece of art Cool

I reposted the cover with a simpler compression so hopefully all can see it now.

Thanks guys for the comments, I want to make a "professional" looking kit!

PostPosted: Sun Aug 21, 2011 4:57 pm    Post subject: Rough Draft of Instructions Reply with quote

I've posted a draft of the Snubby Instructions here:

https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0B59bW--fHgl4NDNhMTI3ZDItY2FlZS00YjAxLTk5ZTctYTA3YzRlMzkzMWQz&hl=en

They're not quite finished, still needs a few more photos.

It took a little bit of fussing but the casting for the clear amber grips is underway. Except for trimming off the pour sprue on top, this is exactly how the castings come out of the mold. No surface polishing needed!
