You can buy a lot of actual booze that you can drink, for that much money! |

Yeah, that price seems steep to me. But hey, I find it hard to spend $440 on anything but major car repairs and handguns.

Well I have a feeling the price of these just went down. We'll see how many of these end up selling now, that you can't get a bidding war with these now. The last one went for much less IIRC. Supply and demand ratio is tilted the other way now.

FAR too expensive. Think I'll be patient, and also scour yardsales and such. Yeah, one could buy some serious amounts of potable booze for $440... _________________ Replicants are like any other machine...they're either a benefit, or a hazard. If they're a benefit it's not my problem. |

They are too expensive but in their favour, they do look like pristine examples, as new in the original box, something that would have attracted me
when i was still looking for one. Would have tried a little haggling before the auction ended as well. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

Perhaps you have seen this, but in the quest for better reference, I ran across a new listing on eBay.
I don't know if someone on PS or RPF has done this, or if it's been mentioned elsewhere here, but this "mock-up" popped up this last week. I nice attempt, with a better reference shot of the actual bottles than I've seen - maybe a grab from the Blu-ray.

TFS Rep13...very interesting indeed I know that Fred had done the research on that one and came up with a pretty close repro of the bottle that is now for sale. I don't know if it's Fred's bottle or a repro by someone else or the real prop from the movie |

Fred to space control ! (thank you Dave for your PM)
NO mates, it isn't mine at all. I would have sold it, it would have been on propsummit...
My replica is here :

One thing is certain : This guy is not a good calligrapher ! (and I'm 100% sure he saw the thread where I posted my replica photos)

I must admit I am relieved it's not yours, 66. After a recheck the same seller is selling several BR related things - like a fabricated blaster license but also a set of coins and bills using Staar's artwork. Some one else had posted an alert here about the latter.
As I stated earlier, the mockup was an "attempt", since I too was not sold on the calligraphy. Even with the better photo as a guide, it misses the mark, IMO.
And I am curious about the comments, regarding the accuracy of the other details (?)

BTW, 66, nice job with the calligraphy! _________________ Gosh, you've really got some nice toys here . . . |

Hey guys,
Just to give you the skinny, I actually spoke at length a year or two ago with the eBayer liznmaya. It's a woman who's father apparently had a "buy and sell" business and he acquired something like 100 of these bottles before he passed away... All pristine all in the box.
I advised her to pick a reasonable price and that she could sell them all fairly quickly and make some good cash. Apparently she's going to trickle them out and see what she can get in auctions.
As said up top. I wouldn't get in a bidding war on these. Just look for them here and there and snipe one when you can.
They are in absolutely perfect condition, however and I'm in love with mine. Got it for around 80 bucks when she first put one up.
Hope that helps in some way.
Cheers,
David |

Thanks for the FYI David, it's good to know what's behind the sale of an item. |

These have been showing up regularly from multiple sellers. I have a feeling once the impatient big money buyers have got their's, and the speculators start to back off, the real price of these will be well below $100, and maybe closer to $50 or less on these. We are the only group of people willing to pay much more than the average price of a bottle of Vodka for them, and I am sure there are more bottles out there than we are.

If these do finally surface, it's welcome news. Many here might like to add the bottle to their collection, but like the JW Bottle it was too pricey or too limited, and now too rare.
I've kept checking eBay over the last year or so and watched patiently as the price of the Smirnoff hovered at $300, dropped on occasion to around $200, and as some may have noticed, at present (8.8.12) one is being offered at $675! (Good luck with that!)
As Andy said, too often a more common item is inflated in price on eBay when listed as a movie prop. Sometimes this tapers off if the movie fades in mass popularity. But it never hurts to shop around as well. You never know where something might pop up - While not perfect, a friend's mom found such an item at a local flee market a few years ago for only a couple of dollars!
. . . Lucky skinjob!
