HEy Baron Smile

Love the finish on this blaster. Could you clarify what paints you used where?

Looks like flat black for the upper receiver and Barrel, - with graphite rubbed in.

And a satin black for the other areas?

--

Also, did you treat the blaster with anything to seal in the graphite and prevent it rubbing off on your hands?

Many thanks bud Smile

Hey Aaron,

thanks for the compliment! and to answer your question the barrel and upper reciever is actually a Tamiya gun metal with a generous rubbing of graphite.

The mag housing and chamber covers are a flat black, then graphite then a sealant (I forget which) those parts were kind of an experiment that luckily paid off..IMHO

I didn't seal or coat the barrel or reciever, just rubbed and recoated with graphite, rubbed and recoated..etc.. Now, after handling, some of the excess has worn off leaving it as you see it with a great metallic look. It will still leave marks on your hands if you picked it up and vigorously rubbed those areas, but you'd have to be some kind of sci fi pervert to do that Wink

oh! and the chrome parts are silver rub-n-buff that is quite simply awesome stuff!

Hope this helps!

Respect
P.

Thank you Baron Smile

I don't suppose it was Tamiya - TS-38 Gun Metal by any chance?
