Oh, and heres a blurry teaser photo of my progress so far. (I almost finished the drawer box but my jig saw is being an ass and refuses to cut a straight line, even with a guide...soooo now I need another piece of plywood and a battle plan. _________________ Good against remotes is one thing. Truly lovely and IMO looking a lot more snug in the box than mine does!
I also really like the approach you've used with the labels - I'm looking forward to seeing the end result!
Highest regards

Thanks. I still need to find a place to print out some of your money and some of the receipt designs by ocd to put in there also...
And once I get my new clip I plan on sculpting a "top" to the Sidkit one and throwing it in the box also, maybe with yellow LEDs, I'm thinking of it as a sort of "stun" clip.
Red=kill
Yellow=stun
Green=?? safety?
Actually that just gave me a crazy idea for future projects, maybe someone could make a circuit that lets you use multicolor RGB LEDs (http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/1074) in the clip, and some way to "set" the gun to different levels like a phaser...! maybe with the front trigger? _________________ Good against remotes is one thing. Great idea..
I also have a second magazine that's amongst my Blaster bits and pieces. Its one I got from Rich (cheers again Rich mate), but it's more static than the one you're proposing -

Haha, I think my build is looking awesome then I take a look at yours again...
I have got to work on my aging...I don't think I want to make the blaster look rusty...but it doesn't feel used yet... _________________ Good against remotes is one thing. Good against the living? That's something else.

I've decided to give the paperwork I designed for this storage box a little more "life". I also made this "customs tape", which I'll probably glue across the drawer and then tear open. Also, please don't steal and try to charge people. I've also updated the main post with a bunch of tiny detail work I've been touching up while I wait for my new parts... _________________ Good against remotes is one thing. Good against the living? That's something else.

This is a truly brilliant looking project, on all levels — congratulations!
One thing I was wondering: what's the story behind the "Kastuma"/"Katsuma" difference on the provenance sheet? _________________ 26354 |

Sorry for not posting more frequently!
I've been working my ass of on a stop-motion promo for a food festival coming up here in NY and have barely had time to sleep much less work on my blaster. I got my ammo clip from Rich and really want to get started, but the animation project is pretty fun too...
I also am STILL waiting on some bits I ordered for some ammo ideas I've had, I think I'm gonna have to cancel my order and buy elsewhere...
I can't believe how crappy some online retailers are. _________________ Good against remotes is one thing. Good against the living? That's something else.

OK here it is! My interpretation of specialty replicant retiring ammo. I think I got exceptionally close to my design sketch. If only I knew how to etch the Tyrell logo into the side of these...
The idea
The result
And now I have a question for everyone! Should I add the red stripe to all of them or do they look better bare aluminum? I'm leaning toward the stripe, but I thought I'd see what you all think.
I also thought about trying to sell them but it would probably be more trouble than it's worth. It would be easier to just describe how I made them and share links to find the necessary parts online. Hint...one of them is spent aluminum .44 rounds. _________________ Good against remotes is one thing. Good against the living? That's something else.

Kinda like those...with the red stripe for sure. How about with the Tyrell lettering (as per your original design)? |

I still like the idea of the Tyrell logo, but that first one was just drawn on with pencil. I want to find a permanent way of making it look etched...maybe even actually etching them.
I just have to investigate. My girlfriend thinks it should have the red line too...so that's basically decided _________________ Good against remotes is one thing. Good against the living? That's something else.
