Not only that but it seems to me that the details are somewhat soft also...too expensive for the quality |

The detailing is not so bad a bit light, they did get alot of if right on, but it is not matching up in places like the edge of the hull, and seems to not be finished.. I think the price is ok if the thing were at least the correct shape.
The domes look great, but then there are weird balls on the bottom that weren't in the film. also the couplers (parts that opened and ejected the pods) seem non-existent. They should be tapered and at least some small likeness. _________________ ______________________________________

Hi Guys,
My name is Tony ... Hunk of Junk Productions .
We made the Valley Forge you were just discussing. The parts of the hull that you said were missing were corrected with extra parts. They may not be present in some of the parts pics ...but they are there in the final build up.
We researched as much as we could find to get it as accurate as we could before we cast.. It ended up being about 4 feet long.Theres over 200 parts to her. resin , photo etch, RP (rapid Prototyper) and styrene.
We also added a lot of extra rod and parts that were not with the original cast hull as they were to delicate to cast and could be added after.I am attaching some links to images of the files we ran, the masters and the parts that make up the kit. Theres also some pics of my build up before it was weathered.

Mark..you said you were going o build you own about 3 feet. Would love to help you in any way and with any reference material I have .. I love this ship and would help anyone who takes on this challenge. Its a monster.
We are currently working on a 10" Dome kit and hope to have it in production soon. We still have to do the master for the clear dome itself.

It's a very nice model (saw you on the RPF). I'm sure they'll be amateurs for it...good work for sure |
