Well, one year ago I bought a heavily modified Offworld "C" Blaster from a member here on board.
Last month I got in contact with proper, since he showed interest in some parts I bought together with my Offworld "C" Blaster.
I bought the so-called premium holster, that you can aquire on Phil's holster page for USD $195.00 shipped http://props.steinschneider.com/brblaster/csholster_prem.htm . They're hand made by Karl Derrick ("proper" on the Propsummit) in the UK ( karl@skin-job.com ). this means, the holster is available from Phil and also direct from Karl.

The holster arrived today and I wanted to show you some pictures of it. Please excuse the quality of some of the pictures:

some general views:

Here you can see the stitching and the stamps on the belt loop:

and some more details:

Finally here are some pictures, how the holster fits the Offworld "C" Blaster:

Some more details:

And 2 last "promo" shots:

As you can see, I have received a simply gorgeous piece of work and Karl is an exceptionally talented artist.

He made the internal steel springs after his design. When I first tried to put the blaster into the holster, I was afraid of the blaster being damaged. This was clearly unfounded. The holster fits the Blaster really great and after trying it several times, the Blaster slips into the holster without any hassle. At the same time the internal steel springs hold the Blaster secure and stable in the holster.

The colour of the holster looks great and meets the holster`s colour as seen in the movie perfectly. Indeed Karl told me, that the leather is custom dyed for him to match the original colour.

The stitching is natural waxed linen thread and they are stitched entirely by hand.

The entire holster feels and looks great and I hope this review and the pictures do the absolutely exquisite craftsmanship and leatherwork justice.

Holster looks fantastic, good to see how well it fits the offworld

I've been looking at these on Phil's website for a while, didn't realise they were made here in the UK

I would probably have ordered one if I thought I could get one here, so tired of getting charged customs charges on things I order from the US

Does anyone know what the difference is between the standard holster $135 & premium $195 ?

TFS Stephan. Beautiful workmanship on that holster and it looks good with the gun in it of course. Now if all the snubby owner would ask Karl, maybe he could do a run for that size of a gun Wink

Thats a great item, I have one of Phils first versions and completely love it. It holds my all metal blaster with heavy dummy slugs nicely, which aint an easy task.

Thanks for the positive comments and feedback everyone.
Thanks especially to Stefan for taking the time to show and tell.

The holster was a challenge for sure. I'm used to making real world items as well as replicas, I made the screen accurate Firefly Mal pistol holster replicas for QMx a while back, but the BR holster is in a class of it's own for difficulty.

6 prototypes of the internal spring and 18 prototypes of the holster in all.

Phew....

Thanks Stefan for posting your review, this thread finally decided for me that I needed one of these Holsters,

Ordered an aged & weathered Holster direct from Karl on Saturday morning & it arrived this lunchtime (Monday) Amazing!

Not had a chance to really play about with it yet but on first inspection it looks fantastic really glad I went for it,

Karl is amazingly talented & an absolute gent to deal with,

will try to get some pics up when I get a chance
