I finally got a chance to start working on mine. Definitely cold cast, and it works a lot like a pencil lead - the black isn't a coating, it's the mix. There's enough "stuff" in the plastic that you can go flat black to shiny dark gray depending on how it's sanded, and if you weather it lightly the shiny will look metallic against the black. I'm going the same route as Don - bluing the barrel and lightly weathering the body, to try to match the prepro blaster pics. |

I'm interested in the size of this piece. Looking at the pictures over on RPF the Tome kit is very nearly the same size at the Sidkit - indeed, the grips are actually bigger than the Sid.
I was always under the impression that the Sid was bigger than the original but it seems this is not the case??
It would be great to see comparative shots between the Coyle, Sid, Ross. Offworld and the Tome.
Lovely kit and thanks to Mune and the team for making it available..
Highest regards

I compared parts of it to a real Steyr magazine and Bulldog grip frame, and it seems to be very slightly smaller. By about a millimeter overall. The screw holes also do not match up. The Bulldog 44 cylinder does fit though, and matches pretty well in size. I wonder if there could be some variation on the CA Bulldog grip frames over time.

Seems that we have a winner in that kit (Oz, please emote a little more ) I do that with designs/Art that really touch me (staring at it for months!) and yes, I don't think my wife understands either
Looking forward to see those mounted properly (calling DaveG)and the different takes you crazy guys will produce. |

I'm having Kotofett make me a MR style case.
But I plan to use the Dave G stand. to hold the gun.
I'm just waiting to have the stand in hand. Before I
decide how big I want the case to be.
In the mean time I keep it in the box. But it finds it's way to
the "turn table" at least once a week.
& Jo, are you serious about the emotes?
not sure if you're just busting my balls about my 4 Guinness in posts.

Putting mine together, and I noticed I got two slotted screws instead of a slotted screw + weaver knob. So if anybody gets two weaver knobs, let me know! |

Could I get in on a few of those cases too?
How much are they going to run?
Thanks

Has anyone built theirs up enough to see if the steyr lever can be pulled back? Mine hits the receiver and will not travel any further. |

I have - of you're talking about the Steyr receiver, I had to file a little bit of burring off the elbow part of the slot to get it to work. It wouldn't budge past, but it only took a very little bit of filing to get it smooth as butter. This thing has some very tight tolerances.
Speaking of, I haven't had a chance to finish the weathering, but this is about 3 hours worth of work. This kit really is fantastic.

Nice work Jacob, mine is almost done , just
waiting for the paint on one of the side covers
to dry. My biggest problem is not waiting long
enough and my finger prints get into it.
I noticed the bolt was somewhat tough to pull
back on mine as well but it seems to be alright
now.
I did have to lathe some of the shoulder off
the rear screw for the butt plate, it was to long. |
