Spinner44 was extremely gracious and has loaned me his copy of the badge. I received it a week plus ago and up until this weekend have been up to my eyeballs in Pirates3. Fortunately for all involved the director has approved the shots and I’m done at least for that show. The wrinkle is ive been placed on a 911 for some shots for Diehard4 (ick), but its actually fun stuff. I get to blow stuff up (in CG ofcourse).
Ive started building the badge and we will see how the week progresses. As soon as I have an image Ill post it.
Thanks again.

I was wondering if there might be any updates? I'm hoping for some good news. I just went through a deal on a tile project that went bust after 6 months of waiting.
Thanks,

Update:
I went ahead and bought a 50% aluminium/50% urethane (cold cast aluminum) Spinner Emblem from Blad along with a Firefly plaque cast of the same material. They're both beautiful, btw...
However, I'm sticking to my word and I'd still be interested in an all-metal version, should one eventually come to pass.
Regards,

I hate to do this, however it has been like 8 months since I sent my Spinner medallion off to you Michael. I feel I have been patient in waiting for its return. You promised to send it back to me a couple of times so far. When will I get it? Please answer my email or this post.
At this point I would just like it back. Not interested in anything else.
Thank you. |

Still no word. Guess I am SOL.
It's these sorts of situations why I don't think I will be offering any help in the future. Best to do it on your own. Lesson learned.

My condolences - getting ripped off really cuts me to the core. Hope you get it back somehow.

I am really surprised that someone who borrowed the thing from you can not put it in a box and ship it... with all of the options out there today from online to kiosk, it is not difficult to send a piece back to it's owner.
I am sorry this happened to you John. You have a lot of great pieces and information and it is too bad that someone has taken advantage of your generosity.

Yeah, and it becomes more appent that I won't be seeing it again now that I PM'd him on the RPF and I see he has been visiting there since receiving the PM. This really pisses me off. Very inconsiderate and lame to say the least.
If I don't hear something soon, I would like to see that he is banned off this board.

John,
I see no problem in doing that. Having an open community is one thing, borrowing something and not returning it is another....
Eitherway, if there is something I can do to help, please let me know. Though, short of emailing him, I honestly do not know what that is. However, I am open to suggestions.
Tom
Edit: Does anyone here know this Michael or have any type of regular contact with him? _________________ www.propsummit.com

IGI,
Thanks for the kind support. My hope is that Michael will respond to Tom's email (BTW, thanks again Tom) and he will do the right thing and return it to me.
Thanks,
John |

John, If you don't have his phone number, use his name and the address you sent your emblem to, to look up his phone number online. I used this to get Charles Wallace's phone # and it helped a member here get his stuff. Calling is hard to hide from. You can even pass out the number to others in case he blocks it. It is possible also that he has just been offline because of work, illness or worse. I say nothing like direct contact to get to heart of the matter. |
