News shared today on the BladeZone Facebook page from Gary Willoughby. Fellow Blade Runner fan and collector, Geoff Hutchins, passed away on January 8th. Geoff was of course the owner of many, many Blade Runner props and collectables. Geoff is survived by his lovely wife Tracy, a son, and a daughter, and two grandchildren. R.I.P.

I did not know Geoff personally. We chatted a few times here and at BladeZone's Off-world Forums.

On this forum, he shared the fact that he had cancer. Back in March 2013, he wrote, "Don't really put a downer on things but have to say sharing does help. I just had a recurence of bowl cancer. First one in 2011 but came back with a vengeance a couple of months ago. They had to remove more large bowl, some small intestine, bladder and prostate. Things have gone well though so far and after nearly three weeks in hospital hope to go home on Monday. I am hoping the histology is also favourable as I desperately need to be in LA for what ever is going to be organised in 2019."

My thoughts are with his family and friends.

I do hope that his family will consider keeping his website online. If it's a matter of funding, I am sure we -- the Blade Runner community -- can raise the funds needed. I'd hate to see Ridleyville go the way of BRMovie -- off-line. (It's owner, David Caldwell, a.k.a. "Netrunner" passed away last February.)

I look forward to reading fellow forum member's reply to this post as we all remember Geoff -- "Ridleyville".

I'm very, very sad to read this terrible news...
I've been in direct contact with Geoff on some occasions in the past and he always had been very friendly and helpful... and I won't talk about his contributions to this place of course...

I also hope that his awesome BR collection will stay online...

My thoughts to his family and friends...

Fred

Terrible news for his family and his family here on the board.
Condolences to his family. As some said, if funds are needed to keep the collection on line, I'm sure we'll find some kind of solution to make it happen.

Geoff's son, Jamie, had this to say on BladeZone's Facebook page, in regards to the announcment on the news of his father's passing and the comments posted in reply.

"Thank you so much for doing this! I am immensely proud of my dad and I plan to continue displaying his collection for all to see. Thanks again."

Sad news came thru Facebook to me, my condolences said yet but never enough to repeat here and there. Geoff was so nice he shared their pictures with me to be published in my never ending project BR book (some news about this in my thread). I've contacted his son Jaimie thru Facebook to give the only thing is possible, a warm hug and all my god feelings for him and the rest of family.

Seems like we are in a terrible epoch for the older guys here. But they never will be forgotten. I can't express better with words what I feel everytime this fact of life occurs between all of us.

In the eventually case funds are needed to maintain Geoff's site, I'll proud to help with my humble donation.

Ever with us Geoff!

Geoff really was one of the nicest and most generous guys. His love of the film also inspired me. I am glad his legacy will live on through his son. I will very much miss him and his presence here. Crying or Very sad
