Thanks for the tip...I just picked it up for $6, myself. I've never seen the thing, but all this talk has got me intrigued. |

Watched this again the other day for the Hans Zimmer score with the new headphones I got for xmas, brilliant.
I wouldn't be surprised if SRS once again calls on the services of the now very renowned Mr Zimmer to score an upcoming almost certain to be brooding sci fi classic sequel.
Found another BR reference with the headphones, the scene as Conklin and Vincent walk into the nightclub for the first time, the background street noise is almost the same as BR.
You can almost even hear the Don't Walk, Don't Walk. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

I'm betting nobody has ever asked Ridley about it, but there are too many stylistic cues for it to be some kind of coincidence. It certainly would be interesting to see him discuss it.
I've always enjoyed the film. I saw it in the theater when it first came out, and back then I saw none of the sameness with BR, I just liked it. _________________ I don't have enough blasters!

It would be absolutely fascinating to hear him talk about it Noeland. The whole situation is very unique in cinema when you think about it.
I saw it as well on release and even after subsequent viewings didn't make a real connection until a couple of years ago.
No ones ever asked him about the association between Dark Star and Alien either and by association I mean one is a remake of the other.
There`s a possibility of a great discussion there with SRS if anyone ever brought it up with him. I raised the issue on therpf many moons back and some
seemed to think that it would be offensive to discuss Alien as a remake with SRS. Nonsense. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

I think you're right on many levels Tim! It would be very interesting to discuss this movie with SRS...I bet he would be rather pleasantly surprised that someone would raise the topic. |
