Greetings Mr. Ross,

Thank you very much for the Paining tutorial. I was wondering, what type of black and rust primer you use? I've purchased the other supplies as described in your tutorial, but I feel uncertain as to what kind of black and rust primer would be best for my project. I would be extremely grateful if you could provide your deeper insight.

Thanks again!

You are welcome. Happy to help.

For the black primer, I used Krylon black and for the rust, I used Rustoleum Red Primer. Any basic primers will work, though. Just make sure not to use satin or glossy paints (all primers are generally flat). Also, when applying all paint layers, always go thin for each layer and gradually build up to full coverage, working the surface between coats (smoothing with steel wool or very fine sandpaper). This will quadruple your work time, but the end results will be rewarding.

Rick

The printed parts for the suppressor arrived today. Hopefully I will not have to work again this weekend and I can start building these two PKD-II 2018 variants.

Stunning work, Rick. You've done it again.

That last photo reminded me of that Jean Reno film, "Deckard, The Professional".

Thank you for you kind comments. I am happy to hear you like these two derivatives. They were fun to build. I took the suppressor adapter from the Zhora gun and enlarged it to fit the PKD-II. The rest just fell into place after that. Now that I've built two of them, I realize I need to go back and tweak some of the parts. These two required too much customization while building. I need to make some minor changes and reprint a few of the parts before I can offer any more built ups, or kits. Hopefully by July I can get back on track with this project and begin offering them. Please bare with me. I will keep you posted. Thank you again for your support and encouragement with all of my projects.

Sincerely,
Rick

A lot of work there has paid off....Thanks Rick for the top pics as well.....Shocked very smart looking pistols. I like the deep red-amber grip colour. I'm still thinking about restarting my PKD-1 build that I started back in 2009... being inspired by this project to take my kit out and finish it.
