|
|
After seeing how easy Lukafilm made it look over on theRPF and because I desperately needed some distraction from the rather frustrating VK-research/build project, I decided to make myself a FORCE-badge...
Planning to go all the way and cast it in pewter.... This mockup is made from foam core and epoxy clay...

Looking good ...and as for you feeling frustrated with the V.K., I offer psychological help (free of course) for anyone trying to reproduce that prop (since, it seems, that after 2 V.Ks. under my belt I'm kind of a specialist ) |

Tanks, Joberg... No doubt I'll need some psychological counseling down the road!
A lot of the frustration has to do with the fact that I can't get a lot of the materials in this bloody country where I live. So I have to order it from Germany and the UK... A long and tiresome process. And then of course all the new techniques required to do this build.... *sigh*
Small progress though: I got the Raspberry Pi to run my eye foottage on the large screen. AND: I got one small screen that I'm about to test.... But's I'll make an update in the appropriate thread when there's a bit more to show _________________ Monsieur, azonnal kövessen engem bitte |

I visited your beautiful country of yours years ago and I enjoyed myself thourghly...+ my Mother was working for the Ambassador of Denmark in Brussels (I was 12 at the time) for 4 years. Very gracious and super nice people for sure (I was playing with the toys of the eldest son Franz and he sure had some fantastic stuff )
Eager to see what you'll show concerning the V.K. |

Tiny progress on this small project... I know, I know, it's not accurate in every way. But for a small part time project, I think it's quite ok
The writing is killing me... Need to work more on that!

This is how the mockup of the badge looks now...
The writing is too big... But I think I'm going ahead with the pewter casting...
I think I will make a negative using a high temperature resistant silicone. I'm quite happy with Sylmasta's products an services:
http://www.sylmasta.com/acatalog/Grade-375-Rubber-For-White-Metal-1kg-89.html#SID=140
And then just cast the pewter in the mold.... Probably sounds easier than it is _________________ Monsieur, azonnal kövessen engem bitte |

Don't use the word "just" when doing any type of work Anders; it's bound to be loaded with traps |

Just ordered the buckle bezel as I so want to try this for myself, what did you use for the walls of the badge Anders?
Love this, can't wait to see the finished product. _________________ Tell him I'm eating.. |

The entire mockup was made using 2mm thick foam core for the back and walls, and 1 mm foam core fore the "plaque" with the FORCE writing at the bottom... Everything glued together using super glue.
I made the lines protruding from the center with epoxy clay... Probably wouldn't do that again... Would consider using a baking paper cornet with liquid epoxy mixed with chalk powder (more similar to the method of Lukafilm I believe) and then draw the lines.
Transparent plastic sheets can be found on eBay UK for a personal picture insert!
Alternatively this screen accurate pic was posted by the very kind owner of the real deal if I remember correctly:
Looking forward to seeing pics from your build _________________ Monsieur, azonnal kövessen engem bitte |

Thanks for sharing all the details Anders I'm sure it will look the business!. I will have a big post on my build hopefully soon lots of pics gonna have a box for the gun, special ammunition that explains why such a small gun would be affective against a replicant, a leather ankle holster I'm making, and the guns got some new Amber grips with a unicorn insert. I'm sure you'll like it just have to get time put put it all together _________________ Tell him I'm eating.. |

The accurate measurements should be: Height 4 1/8" H (10,5 cm) x Width 3 1/8" W (7,9 cm), according to my log
The one I done is slightly bigger, about 4mm higher and 4 mm wider.
Do you have reference pictures to work from? _________________ Monsieur, azonnal kövessen engem bitte |
