Hi everyone
I have just ordered a marushin cop .357 and awaiting delivery from the U.S. .
I'm thinking of taking out the barrels with a view to boring them out to accommodate 4 dummy rounds just for show.
I wondered if anybody else here has tried the same and if so, how did it go and are there any tips that you could pass on from your build.

Many thanks in advance people

If it's the same Marushin Airsoft that I have, the barrels are already hollow. It fires BBs.

I was thinking more along the lines of removing the brass sleeves that currently make up the barrels for the 8mm bb's, then seeing if the larger holes could accommodate a 357 round or a 38.
Looking at yours phase pistol is the breach face where you load the bb's metal or abs. I'm hoping the material could be drilled an inch or so just far enough to insert four rounds, would be quite cool being able to see those 357's in there is I were displaying it open.

Well it's ABS on the face when you break the barrel and pivot it down.

The gun is arriving Monday in the meantime the 357 and 38special inert rounds I ordered to go in it have come.
I also ordered some 38 specials to go in an off-world blaster that I'm waiting on also.
However a wasn't so keen on having dented primers on the rounds, and I wasn't sure about just filling them with milliput or the like.
While I was looking for a solution I found a website that does inert primers so I ordered some and set about drilling a hole in the old primer, levering it out and then tapping one of the inert ones in.
It did the trick giving them that unfired look without the risk of an actual primer. Heres the site and a couple of pics.
It's the small primers that are needed so if you have 38's or 44's they fit them all, £18 with postage for 100 .
May be a handy link if you prefer not having empty primer holes on the back of yours , will post more pics of how fetling the barrels goes to fit the rounds

I found that you can remove dead primers by putting a small probe or punch it the inside of the shell into the hole and then driving it out downward.

Thanks for the dummy primer supplier.

Well the gun arrived today with the usual paint on it as an import to the UK.

However some acetone a toothbrush and plenty of cotton wool pads soon put pay to that.

I took out the breach face which is only fixed with one screw, once removed the brass barrels just slide out.
The breach face was actually metal with metal collars inserted in the holes, these came out easy enough with a rod file.
Put it in the hole while in a vice a sharp tap with a hammer on top of the file removes the collars.
Luckily enough the diameter of the hole with the collars removed is a perfect fit for a 357 round

However the rim of the casings protruded far enough to prevent closing the gun, if I had a drill press I would have milled a recess for the rim so it would sit flush. If anyone else tried this tyres plenty of material to drill so if you have a drill press have at it. I don't however so I simply placed the the breach face flat on some fine wet and dry paper and ran it back and forth until enough material had been removed so it sits a few millimetres below the outer casing of the barrel.

Then just sprayed the breach face black and that was that, in time I will add four tubes inside the barrel housing to make things a bit more proper and maybe some triangle pieces to fit around the shell rims so it looks like there is a machined recess for the rounds.
For now however I'm please with it as it was only a couple of hours work and it looks pretty cool and feels solid enough as is

Ps. I've always thought Leons gun was black maybe I'll do the same to a chrome one in case I'm wrong , thanks folks hope this may have been of some use
