Can people please post the materials and techniques for getting grips shiny as glass? Rich? Anyone? I have Novus but that doesn't seem to work.

Sandpaper progression 320 - 1500 also must be wet to wash away grit accumulated.

Then airbrush or carefully hand brush on some Future floor polish on the backside of the grips and allow them to dry on a level flat surface. The future will fill in any minor scratches from the sanding.

Depends on the condition of the existing grips to start with. Sometimes you can start with 600 or 800 grit paper and work your way to the more smoother paper. Like Hirohawa said...make sure you use 'wet' sanding method with paper grit size progression. I progress the paper up to 2000 grit fineness. Then I use a dremel tool with polishing wheel and polishing compound....gently as high speed buffing wheels can cook or burn the plastic if you press or work the plastic too much.
Finally...I use the fine grade Novus polish by hand for finishing.
It was a bit of trial and error for me until I found the best methods that work for this type of plastic/resin material. There is more than one way to polish these. I am sure others will use similar or different methods.... the key is to avoid harsh solvents or harsh chemicals. If use sand paper...use progressive grit sizing, preferably a wet method, to a very fine grade, so that it will make the final polishing /finishing stage easier.
I have never tried the Future floor polish method. Interesting.

On mine I use a BIG 6 inch buffer wheel on a big grinder, and white polishing compound and have at it.

My grips come out of the mold fairly nice so I don't do any sanding..and as I use a great grade of plastic they do not melt or burn.

Once I have done the buffing polish I the use Mother Mag wheel polish to finish them off and to put a super fine coat of wax on them.

What I've done is polish the backs of the grips (and sometimes the smooth edge (but not the waffle texture) on the front, with Mother's Mag chrome polish.

I've used Brasso, it works impeccable.... It both polishes the plastic and leaves the desired trace on the grip's texture.
