Hi, thought I'd put up a thread about the pros & cons of a SIdkit (WORLDCON) blaster I recently bought... Im a pro model maker of a certain standard but know theres way more better out there especially you guys... This model I bought is of a vague 2007-08 variety this particular model l bought from an ebay seller from Italy called Possanza...l studied best l could from various links and asked details before buying. I was give the know build links but... It varies due to each year and make of a Sidkit it seems..... I was also told it was fully functional & would take a certain level of professional attension ...I.E the trigger/hammer would work & no glue required!! ... So it seems lm not doing something right. I ask your advice and experiences with This model.
If any of you guys have this model and can tell me where lm going wrong/right or your own experiences please share.... Anyway to start with the whole given package l photographed... Bar the screws for now... This is after a lot of cleaning & adding screw holes & taps That where not there.
Below is my problem with the trigger & hammer... The orange circle represent what I gather the spring should go in! No it don't plus the springs are so weak my Biro pen has stronger... Not that would help if they were steel & stronger in seems....
This one below ive just put on top to show what way this part should make the hammer work, again lve just put it on top, the long spring even in place dont make it work or have a connection to the back trigger .If you have solved this I'd love to know or have the same type.

As this is a recasting off one of my models these instructions from my kit should help.

The washer on the long spring goes up and sits in the notch in the cross bar of the frame compressing the spring so the hammer is preloaded.
This is how I do my spring:

Would it be possible for someone to create a animated gif to show the action (or failure) thereof?
Can the hammer spring tension be adjusted so as to arrive at a "working balance" between the trigger and hammer? |

Well I don't think there are all that many people building these and my step by step shows how it works.

No problem.
DARKVIEW seems to know the story so there is no point of going over it again.

Thanks Rich. I was just going to suggest we stay on topic.
I have tinkered with a friend's sidkit . . . kit.
I found the springs to be a joke. I think even toys have stronger springs in them.
You can pick up a spring kit for airsoft revolvers, and for real guns.
I ended up picking up and not using springs from a real charter arms bulldog. My friend was worried they would be too strong and damage the pewter. I picked up a real trigger, and a real hammer just in case to use in the kit.
In the end I didn't build the kit for him anyway. He decided to do it himself. I do believe he went with springs from an airsoft revolver he had in a box. _________________ I don't have enough blasters! |

With the plastic model I really needed light springs.
BUT with the pewter model I still need to use light springs..
Even with the zinc parts there was still problems with them working and after a bunch of firing you start denting the frame where the hammer hits and in some cases pushing the holding pins out of place distorting the holes.
SO I use springs strong enough but no stronger to get a smooth action and a fair snap of the hammer.

I expected so much more from a SidKit £340+ (build it yourself-kit) but it does work ... slightly ...(the trigger/hammer) But It's poor on the 'click' trigger part!!! Even toy dollar/pound guns work better!!! Still I'm showing it so far ... Its a heavy beauty and looking good after my efforts at this stage I'm finding. It's I want it fully functional & sturdy on tactical use.
I'm documenting this for others wanting to understanding if bought from evil bay ... so what to expect.
The links l was given were somewhat helpful but outdated, confusing & mostly antiquated to its build as no instructions come with it.
I'd like to hear from other pro builders of this kit to tell me there thoughts and experiences!!!

Got the spring into the center cylinder realise mechanism ok but it keeps falling the bullet cylinder and not truly staying shut!! The screws not over tight so that (thumbpiece) push part can move...it's not really realising or keeping it in!!.

You haven't done anything wrong in your build. It's just the nature of the beast.
All of the white metal blasters are not going to operate like a real gun, Airsoft or even many toys.
White metal is very fragile and bends and strips parts very easily. Especially on the revolver bits, as there is no way for these metal on metal areas to survive the stress associated with their Steel, Die Cast and heavy duty plastic counterparts.
Also in my experience Sidkit Metal tends to be softer than the Coyle counterpart - but even Coyle moved to harder Zinc parts for his revolvers. |

Fairly early too.
Zinc triggers, hammers, and the other small bits needed for the action.
Here is another little fun fact, My model is so accurate you can replace the pewter Bulldog with a real one.
You can even make a working firing model.
A number of them have been done.
