2018 release date announced. A November 2019 date would have more symmetry around it. Not like Hollywood to miss something like that. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

The sooner the better...than again, as you said Tim: not that Hollywood would've missed something like that |

They really should film this in one of those Chinese "Ghost Cities". These are brand new cities, fully equipped for a million people, which are empty. Google it, it's wild!

Amazing locations Tony, you could save a fortune on set building and plough a fortune into dressing and extras, thousands of extras.
My heads spinning at all the search lights and real and faux neon. You could also use the vast empty interiors for the studio requirement, perfect a ghost city makes no noise.
Oh and no smoke machines need either.
That's if they even go that way, being set decades after the original, the whole Mega City idea may have collapsed on itself. So many different scenarios. Nice. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

Thanks for the link Tony! Amazing locations for sure. Don't know about the insurance for the whole crew/cast filming in those polluted conditions...oh well |

There are many places like this in China. Huge cities, fully complete - except for people.
In Shanghai there is an abandoned shopping mall the size (and shape) of the Pentagon!
All would make great locations for many films, not just BR. Imagine - no crowd control necessary!
It's well worth Googling "ghost cities china". _________________ If only you could see what I've seen with your eyes. . . |

Ryan Gosling on BR in the UK Telegraph:
. . . He has two projects he is planning to direct but in the meantime he has the musical comedy La La Land, in which he plays a jazz pianist, awaiting release and he is preparing to begin filming the long-awaited Blade Runner sequel for Ridley Scott. "I can't say too much about it because they've put a chip in my neck and my head will explode if I do," he says. "But I can tell you it's a sequel, not a remake, and Harrison Ford is in it."
The rest of the article is forgettable:

As this is getting closer to release I`m thinking less about if Deckards a skin job or not but more about what he`s been up to for the last thirty years.
Still hoping for an Off World excursion. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

Checking a link on the STAR WARS "Story" I stumbled upon a report mentioning Ford's "next project" filming in Budapest(?) Perhaps mentioned elsewhere here, but . . .

Not my doing, of course. Good catch, but typos seem to be the new trend online. A good proofreader is 'hrad' to find. - R13 _________________ Gosh, you've really got some nice toys here . . . |

Stage hand has died dismantling a platform (part of the new BR set) in Budapest. Sad news indeed.
On another topic, Jared Leto has been a late (if not surprising)casting choice.
I guess his role of the Joker made people and Villeneuve, pay attention.

Damn, sorry to hear somebody died working on the set. That is always tough to hear. I know folks who do that for a living here in the states. _________________ I don't have enough blasters! |
