I have to say that this was the best thing I`ve seen in such a long time that it could be the best thing I`ve ever seen on TV.

So many props jumped out at me but will concentrate on just a few.

As my collection is mostly based around this kinda stuff, have to have Hoppers badge and accessories. Chances are I`ve found someone able to make one from scratch for me.

The man who helps me out with such things is drawing up the file that will allow me to get the patch made.

I`ve searched everywhere for this patch but have not been able to find the exact one, none of the others I`ve seen have the blue section join up with the third last stripe.
Does anyone recognise this style? Would rather not have to custom make one.

My collection has a lot of old phones and walkie talkies in it and jumped for joy when I found a pair of the correct ones locally. Cant wait to tune in to the Upside Down Top 40 Very Happy

The show is full of tastefully done references throughout but this one jumped out at me when doing the badge research. Classic.

Wasn`t totally happy with the thickness of the lettering so dug around a little more and found another similar compass with the correct font.

The needle and case are not correct on the second model but a quick swap of some parts from the first should result in a fully screen accurate compass for two bucks.

Thanks J, keeping it very simple and fun.

Have searched through every possible flag design and patch design online and have concluded the patch used in the series is a custom job. Could only find
one example of a flag with a near correct design but there was nothing on its origin.

If there`s interest and the inferior rip offs haven't hit ebay by then, might do a small run of both patches as a set. Good news for cosplayers.

Yeah, that red line just under the blue of the stars is very unusual for sure Confused

Yeah, cant find another example from any time period full stop.

Wonder if its a subtle little tell from the main story like they are in an alternate universe or something obscure like that. Cant think of a good reason for them to not use the stock
standard film and TV stars and bars patch other than pissing off collectors.

Stu has finished all the artwork for the patches and we also put a replica of Hoppers license plate together. Printed out some examples on paper and everything looks great.

There`s only one very quick frame of the original license plate and was lucky enough to find an era correct example of a real one online so it came together.
Just have to add the grey electrical tape top and bottom and the small square of white tape over the tag.

Loved the punch/swipe card they use at the facility, almost like there was a miscommunication in the prop department.

I knew that the inferior patches would eventually hit the market and here`s the first. Wont put me off though as we may have the same idea but we are miles away in commitment.

Took a while but finally got the patches and they turned out great. Many thanks to stromo for all his help.

Here`s everything to this point, still waiting to find a badge with the correct font, proving difficult.

Excellent Tim! That swipe card is very special; not something I've seen before. Might be that alternate universe you're talked about.
It's as if two worlds were colliding and meshing tech and things together...
Interesting to say the least.

Wow, great job! Did you do one-offs or a small run on those patches?

The flag is a real head scratcher. I wondered if it was that way in Jaws as well, but I guess that costume had triangle patches on both shoulders, so no flag.

Cheers. I had to get the flag patch made as there isnt an example of another one anywhere, pretty sure it is unique to the show, thought it made sense to make a screen accurate
Hawkins police patch at the same time. It was a very small run, cant get them cheap enough to make it worthwhile.
