Spinner 44, it's dark, matches the plastic box below it better, IMHO. I'll try and take some outdoor natural light photos soon.

Darkknight, yes the one one the right is that version.

The PRO Retailer Edition UE is now showing as SOLD OUT as is the Display Stand. Time will tell if this actually was the "ultimate" or the "penultimate" edition. Maybe there'll be additional runs of the "ultimate" edition? One thing's for sure, it is a work of art.

Picture #2 of 7 shows a slotted screw unlike the others showing the Weaver knob. Which is it going to be? Confused

Both options are included. The slotted is screen accurate.

just got mine today.

I contacted HGC about numerous issues with piece that was sent to me. I got a prompt reply. Hopefully, they can resolve it. Are these actual issues or am I just looking at this too closely?

Slotted screw / weaver knob do not sit flush.

bolt butt piece flat matte in color and heavily pitted

stained receiver

grip but plate pretty rough

paint bubbles (white specs are not dust, but paint bubbles)

other side paint bubbles (white specs are bubbles)

mag housing looks scuffed as heck (hard to capture with current camera)

but i've seen others document this problem.. will retake upon request

despite these issues,
at arms length.. and a bit out of focus.. it looks better

I don't think it's a bad idea to contact them. Definitely seems to be QC issues and it should look better for what you paid for it, IMO.

Let us know if you get a response.

Yep, a bit "rough" in certain parts: screw problem should be easily resolved, as well as for the finger prints. For the paint, well that's just shoddy work in my book Confused

Some of those things are easily fixable (I think). Overall it does miss the mark in terms of the level of quality that the TomPro's usually have.
Send it back for an exchange.

The rough butt plate is sometimes typical of the TomPros. Your butt plate looks very rough.....maybe because it is a hi res close up pic. Can polish that out.

Also check the operation of the trigger and the opening and closing of the bullet cylinder housing. It should be relatively smooth operation with no jamming.

The pic of the receiver being "stained" looks like an OIL stain. TomPROs are lightly oiled and can get some excess oil causing this....probably can wipe that away if that is the case.

I do not own a HCG version. And, I do not own any TomPro blasters.
I have had in my possession about 10 TomPro Blasters completed models in the past. I sold them all within Australia.

Regards...
cratercritter

PS: Anyone who wants me to order one in for them. Sorry, the answer is NO. Cool

Probably an unpopular opinion here, but again I see very little value for the price. One shouldn't have to "fix" anything. All the blasters I've encountered (with the occasional exception being certain Tomenosuke models) seem to be plagued with numerous flaws in fit and finish to varying degrees. I guess it's whatever the (astronomical) price the market will bear, and then it's take it or leave it...

Flame suit on.

There seems to have been some real QC issues with this release. Kind of a shame, hope everything works out for everybody (including HCG and Tomenosuke).

No need for the flame suit on Bwood; I kinda agree that it shouldn't be fixed...but since it's put together by humans (and not machines) these little flaws are bound to show up.
Pricing is always a subjective topic. Is it too expensive, or the right price for the quality you'll get? That's up to each to decide Wink

I just received mine and it has some issues. The rear receiver part is a flat and dull finish also. The rest of the upper is shiny so it looks awful. I am trying to resolve it but I can say I am very upset at the whole ordeal. One look and you can't miss the different finishes on the two parts that are right next to each. My base plate is not as rough but it still looks bad.

I wish they would just offer kits again because I could build it and eliminate these problems. Finishing the receiver is just patience and time. Many others have done with amazing results.

Does anyone know if the other release of the PRO Retail edition with the black finish had the mismatched parts issue? I have only seen pictures.

Wow, this is really sad to hear that the quality is slipping this badly. Sad

Yes, it's really strange to have such QC issues from a Japanese company that's known for its sharp product. Maybe too popular? Rushing one series after another in quick succession?...Hopefully these areas will be fixed sooner rather than later.
Still, a very good product at the end of the day.

I recall someone suggesting this should be offered as a kit - that way, any flaws would be your own...

An HCG employee is over at RPF and is getting these replaced. HCG is not happy about these issues either.

Get in touch and they will take care of it.

It almost seems like Tomenosuke is using a different manufacturer to prep and build this issue. Their other releases had much better quality control.
