Visuals look amazing. Nice to have city long depth for the streets and not just the WB lot. Ryan Gosling looks a little kid playing dress up though- looks frail. Not sure about this. And seeing Old Man Ford again revisiting one of his 80s characters is leaving me cold as well. Nice to see him with the blaster but a T-Shirt - just strikes me as very un Blade Runner.

I have a bad feeling about this.

Let's shed some light on that....

Looks like standard issue - nothing new here..... yet.

Why on earth would you want all questions answered in a teaser trailer?

I wouldn't. I'm just really curious... and sometimes you just work up expectations that a trailer couldn't or shouldn't meet. That's all.

EDIT: The signs in the window of the building where Dec is hiding look Korean... not Japanese or Chinese....

문 = door (???)
행 = line, row (???)

(Please correct my translations native speakers!!!!)

The trailer reminded me of the feeling I got when reading the novel. That orange haze of the nuclear fallout referenced so many times.

Book? There's a book? Shocked

Seems Deck is hiding out in the "Vintage Casino", nice generic place, I guess. Is this going to be on the test? I don't like tests.

Haha I was thinking the same things Wink so I guess the whole Deckard is a replicant is no longer valid? Unless this is some sort of twist?

Just wasn't the debut trailer I was hoping for. Seeing Deck for the first time in the new universe wearing the same shirt I wash my car in left me a little flat.

Parts of it felt like one of those weird arse French parfum commercials and the head in the sand bit looks like Goslings unicorn moment.

Also, the daylight.........it burns......watch Blade Runner enough and you get over sensitive to that stuff.

Still cant wait but. Wink

I wish Harrison Ford did something more creative with his look while revisiting his classic characters.

Like this:

^^^This look is what should have stepped out of the shadows with the blaster.

Its weird to me that Han Solo and Deckard wouldn't be more grizzled and bad ass looking.

The Vintage Casino looks like a CGI set trying to look reminiscent of the Bradbury but sorely lacking in detail...

Well, I never saw the original film's trailer before:

It's also not so good, in that case the original probably showed too much. But this new trailer doesn't do much for me. Not so much texture.

And I agree about the Casino CGI "set". Way too clean. And dry too. I guess the 2019 El Nino ended and there is no more rain.

It feels like this trailer was dropped a little early, but tit probably is serving its purpose; get the fans' attention, don't give away very much, get the fans wondering (and maybe acclimating), give enough of a taste to make folks start to get hungry...

I thought Gosling's single line was good. I do want to know what he means by that.

I have to agree that things look just a bit too clean, or at least lack the chaos of the original film. Noticed the garbage cans in the street were lined up in a row...WTF? I agree that so much of the original film for me was the texture...texture in the air even. It will just be cool to get a taste of that world again, even if it is more methadone than the real thing. Regardless I will keep my expectations low, and really enjoyed hearing the Vangelis cues.

I assume that Nexus7 was referring to 'Do androids dream of electric sheep' Wink
