Nice! I was gonna offer you one, if it was just a resin cast. Looks awesome on the magnum! |

Thank you for the offer! I actually have a total of four real ones. This project gave me an excuse to use one. _________________ "Good judgement comes from experience and a lot of that comes from bad judgment."

I succeeded in getting the LEDs to work properly with an on/off switch. I just need to finalize the power supply. There isn't much room to work with inside the handle so I have to use button batteries. The instructions call for the small hearing aid batteries but I already have a bunch of the larger CR2032 coin batteries lying around so I'm going to see what I can do with those. I looks like I need at least 12 volts to power everything but I'm still working out the kinks.

Here's a little time lapse of me wiring the LEDs. Don't judge me too harshly, I'm a noob with electronics.

Thank you! I like the blue color also. I wanted it to stand apart from the normal PKD. _________________ "Good judgement comes from experience and a lot of that comes from bad judgment."

A little more progress. I was able to get the batteries in place. In hindsight, I should have gone to down to the drug store to get some hearing aid batteries, but I was stubborn and used the larger 2032s that I had on hand. I had to carve out a little space in the handle to accommodate the size of them. I had originally separated them into two stacks but I couldn't maintain the proper connection and had intermittent power problems so I stuck them all together and drilled out a hole for them to live.
Once I screwed the handle in place, the wires only show a little bit in the pre-molded channel but I actually like the look of them.
As for the sight rod, I tried using a braided sleeve to hide the wires, but it just ended up looking weird so I went with bare wires with a thin coat of Plasti-Dip.

The Plasti-Dip is a good idea for the wires...never thought about that trick before |

Thanks. It keeps the wires looking thin and the dark color helps them blend in. _________________ "Good judgement comes from experience and a lot of that comes from bad judgment."

At long last, I finally finished this project. Here are a few shots of the final product.

You really did a great job on that RR by respecting the original design and adding a few pimping features! Very nice indeed |

Thanks so much for the kind words! I really appreciate it. I love this piece and it sits proudly on my shelf next to my other Blade Runner Blasters. Next up is my Goldberg snub kit. I might tackle that one soon. So many kits, so little time. _________________ "Good judgement comes from experience and a lot of that comes from bad judgment."
