Hello all
First time posting here. Incredible amount of info here. Ive been building a Blaster that a freind of mine printed and gave to me. Ive been facinated by this prop for some time and im nearing completion. Ive been working on fitting lights and making the clip removable. The lights are in but not happy with my wiring. May redo it.[/img]

Welcome to The Summit, Maniac. Good luck with the outcome.

Hi thanks!
Trying to wire the green leds. Scavenged two white wires to use. Hollowed out the sight rod and carved out a small hole for the white wires to run through. How do I post pics here

Hi all here's my build so far. Lights are wired and working off one switch in the clip. The clip is removeable. The amber grips are from Richard Coyle and I have reworked the grip frame so they fit. Still need to repaint the grip frame and finish the buttplate. Adding real hardware as well. What do you think?

It's a great effort and the results look very good. Eager to see it all put together

Hello all. Here's the latest pic of my Blaster. This was 3d printed by a freind of mine. Has a removeable clip with lights and the sight rod lights up as well. Spent about a year on and off working on it. The grips came from Richard Coyle and I adapted the gun to fit the grips. I need to get a new buttplate not happy with this one I made the screw holes too big. Any suggestions appreciated.

Just krylon satin black and on the receiver flat black with sliver dry rubbed into the paint. Silver model paint to simulate wear on the edges.

Thank you so much! I'm finishing up the buttplate which is plastic like the rest of the gun. I'd love to find a real aluminum plate though. Ive been looking for a way to add weight to make it feel more real.

Looks pretty good. Is there any way to smooth, or fill in, those "ridges" that I see so much of in 3D printed stuff?

Thank you! Yes there is. Look on YouTube for acetone smoothing. The vapors from acetone will soften the lines. Also sanding. I did a combination of acetone, sanding and Bondo. The more the printer resolution the less lines. But they all have lines.
