I see two distinctly different designs leaving me with the impression that there will be more than one "new" blaster..

That reminds me of the gun from Timecop:

Looks like the Timecop gun merged with a camera lens! I would have loved it if they used the Syd Mead blaster.

Also, what on earth is the deal with that grip? The best I can figure is maybe it's some sort of semi-malleable bag filled with gel or something that conforms to the user's hand, but that seems like it wouldn't provide a very secure hold.

It looks like the carbon fiber on the Air Jordan 11

I don't mean the texture, but the bizarre lumpy shape.

I think it's supposed to be inspired by modern ergonomic type revolver grips.

I wasn't really happy with the new blaster design, so I made some mods. Mainly, that weird trigger guard has been changed, dual triggers are back as an homage to the original Deckard blaster, there is a more pronounced bolt lever, and magazines that load rail gun slugs into the rear of the receiver. Also, that wacky handle has been redesigned.

I think officer K's blaster could have been pretty cool, if they had just put a little more effort into flushing out the design.

Modeled in blender, rendered in Modo. Crits welcome.

Fantastic. Particularly like the 'dusty' weathering you have achieved and agree completely that a little extra thought would have refined the 2049 gun to the point where most fans of the original were happy with it.

Yeah. flushing it down somewhere....

Your new design looks cool. Should get rid of the camera lens style textured main barrel.... smooth it out and/or change it.

I guess I'm the odd one out as I thought that the grip/trigger half of theirs was much stronger that the top. I don't care for the "car muffler" much. Still, I love what you've done with your grip, better.

I like the two blasters for two reasons:

- They do not look so ugly and actually maintain the futuristic design of the movie.
- They are uglier than the original blaster which makes that why I like every time more.
